Advice needed on first pathfinder character-multi class ranger?

So, i'm building a half-orc natural attack ranger, and i'm trying to decide on my level dips.. Originally I was going to play a melee druid worth some dips in ranger for the combat feats and earlier aspect of the beast, but now i'm kinda torn between a couple options.

Right now i'm an animalistic level 1 half orc ranger with toothy and keen scent. Stats are str 18, wis 16, con 14, dex 14, cha 15, int 12 if I remember right.

When I get aspect of the beast, should I...

Dip druid for three levels and take shapeshifting hunter?
Benefits would be the versatility of wildshape, companion, and spells.

Dip barbarian for the ability to ignore damage and fiend totem for gore attack?

Go straight ranger for the style feats and take feral combat training for bleed dmg?

Any other good ideas are also welcome, but for character rp, i'm never going to use a weapon- only natural attacks. Alchemist is also against the characters beliefs.

Alignment is tricky for me...here are his beliefs-

He's a worshiper of gozreh, but believes the laws of nature should reign supreme. Sure they can be cruel, but even the most vicious predator never comes close to the evils that humanoids commit, even when they say it's for the greater good. other alignments are simply a way for humanoids to segregate themselves and feel superior. They love to use that as an excuse for perform horrible atrocities. While it's not his responsibility to purge the earth, they should stay out of his way.

One last question- I have 750gp.. Even after I buy hide, that's a lot of gold to spend when I don't use weapons..what should I buy?

A few nets. You'll need some way to deal with flying creatures, and if you won't use weapons, then the next-best thing is to ready an action to throw a net on them when they come near. (Or maybe someone else will have a better idea.) I'm not ignoring your other questions; I'm just putting them off for later.

That's a good idea I think...although if I dip in druid, it won't be long til i'm using spells.. Thanks for the reply.

I might do that.. Let me consider whether it's a weapon...

Really? No natural attack ranger optimizers?

Liberty's Edge

Natural weapon ranger seems very strong at low levels, then fading as you go higher. There's no easy way to enhance your claws (except amulet). Low crit threat, no adamantine, etc.

I'm sure you'll rock from 1-5, and probably still be fine from 6-10. I bet you find some nice combinations to extend your usefulness, its just harder because natural weapons don't synergize well with other classes / abilities.

Those levels 1-5 are normally kind of fun since you don't have to worry about full attacks, most melee can take the move action and standard attack, and not lose those iterative attacks. You want to full attack from level 1 or 2, which hinders mobility. If you're limited to a standard attack, you may be doing -much- less damage than a ranger using a two-handed weapon.

So, those are the reasons I didn't make my last ranger a natural weapon one. I still want to try it though, so I'll make one next time.

So far, i'm thinking as far as feats:

Lvl - Feat
Shape shifting (bear) Ranger-

1 - keen scent
2 - aspect of the beast, claw
3 - endurance, improved unarmed strike
5 -feral combat training
6 - improved nat attack
7 - beliar's bite
9 - eldritch claws
10 -rending claw

Druid (for shifting to get more attacks and buff spells)
1- boar style
3- shapeshifting hunter
5- natural spell (if the game goes that far)

Will probably try to get amulets of mighty fists and armbands of blood rage.

Unsure what armor to use....

Lamellar (leather). I can't comment on the rest, but for armor, I'd recommend the lightest that works for you. In practice, I've found that mobility and AC both matter. So, I'd say lamellar (leather) from Ultimate Equipment, which is light armor (and natural materials) with a +4 armor bonus.
