How to make a "taoist style" monk

I was wondering if anyone has any idea for making a nonlwful
taoist style monk. I am thinking a Monkey King inspired character. The martial artist arch type won't work because I will wont him to have
mystical abilities. I guess it doesn't even have to be a monk class.

LG does not mean a paladin. LG can be a monky spirit because if he values life and family (friends) above all else then that qualifies him as LG even if he pranks people left and right, acts like a fool, and makes people confused about if hes sane or not.

lawful good does not mean hes a paladin. so a LG or LN alignment will work for a jet lee monkey god type character.

LN isn't as constricting as you think you can be every bit the trickster loveable jerk taoist as any other alignment. If you're going monk I suggest the sohei and use the staff, but if you want something a little different I suggest just a small dip into either monk(master of many styles) or unarmed fighter and go the rest as a magus. Either staff or bladedancer combined with hexblade to give you that wushu feel to a fighting character.

You can also do the aasimar racial variant that has the trait available to it that lets it be a monk and neutral or neutral good

ok so here is a monkey character that i would play. druid 4 monkey domain and ape/maneuver master x (trip as my main maneuver, dirty trick as my secondary). use a staff with sizing and stack the heck out of your dex.

thank you for the advice. I wasn't aware of that trait of aasimars. I was thinking of how druid could communicate the "one with nature" concept

There is a Monkey Style feat chain. It grants additional bonuses on Acrobatics and generaly resorts to doing "monkey" tricks, such as droping on floor and moving around freely. The feat chain doesn't grant much offense tho, only mobility.

Dotting for later. While I dig up my Son Wu-Kong Monk.
