Mordecai Shrykeson |

Not sure if you are requesting exact character details, but I will outline mine now anyway.
-Oracle of Bones/Agent of the Grave (prestige class, if greater than level 6)
-Human
Then the Withering came.
The town was quarantined as a hideous diseases truck down its denizens. It spared young or old, strong or weak. Every day, more of the townspeople tried to steal from the village store and escape the city walls. To maintain the order necessary for the town to survive until help could come, Mordecai's father become harsher and harsher, hanging all who stole or tried to flee- the young, the pregnant and elderly all died at the order of his gavel.
Eventually, fear and anger overcame the town. They gathered together in an enormous mob, took the magistrate from his house and hanged him from the gallows where he had sent so many to die.
In a cold and emotionless fog, Mordecai silently timed the mob from his hiding place in his father's cellar. It took two minutes and thirty-two seconds for the mob to turn upon itself in an orgy of blood and pillaging and raping.
When the doctors came the next day, they found the city covered with the gore of fear-driven anger unchecked. None survived, save a pale youth found from the cellar of a burning house.
Since that day, Mordecai has scoured the land for the power to stay the chaos of anarchy and enforce the law his father taught him. The glow of dark divine power he discovered in his mind came as unneeded confirmation of the rightness of his mission. He uses that power to animate the remains of servants of chaos with the power of his Law, and send them as his hands against his enemies.

Just because it could have in-fighting doesn't mean it will. That part depends entirely on the party composition and your personal allegiances.
I'm just saying, if you go into a big scary dungeon and there's an artifact sword at the end that has all kinds of cool powers... determining who gets to keep and use it might be troublesome. :)
...then again, that would be true with all three types of games. But at least you'd be accountable to someone other than yourselves in the #2 scenario.

Joy |

Oh Please don't point those things out. It was hard enough to pick the order the first time. You're going to have me rethinking and reposting my order again. :)

Black Dow |

Would probably either go Wild Rager, Breaker or Armoured Hulk archtype for the Nolander Barbarian/Antipaladin multiclasser.
Start with Antipaladin and use Barbarian to symbolise his gifts of rage from Rovagug...
Nolander seems a good choice if we're Golarian bound... Place where the Linnorm Kings and Shoanti send their criminals...
Some great concepts being thrown up though :)
Joy and KMBCross' pair would make quite the creepy couple...

Cavalier of the Order of the Dragon going into Assassin. I'll be 100% melee support. I'll be an Executioner, a man whose entire job is to kill. He'll be sent on missions dictated by Lord _____ to find the sword of _____ and keep this cadre of misfits and sociopaths out of too much trouble. If only he knew that my character was a Sadist. :)

AH YES INTERESTED PEOPLE! I love me some evil concepts!
For me, 2-3-1. I like the idea of initial structure to slightly railroad characters, before possibly having the chance to overtake the organization or being able to do our own thing. 3 is also awesome, so long as we're fighting evil for the sake of evil, not so much to help good as further our own agenda. Sandbox evil campaigns seem almost like a bad idea, as many people in a sandbox environment get bored and default to there alignment or backstory to further the fun, thus infighting.
Now for concepts! Any time I submit concepts for a campaign, I usually do at least 3 and have them be a barebones description. Also, all backstory is subject to change to fit with the setting or to add plot hooks later on. If one or more should interest you, I will flush them out.
Karthus is a lawful evil undead lord cleric. He is generally an easy going person, unless you stand in the way of his ultimate goal - leaving behind flesh and death for the power of lichdom.
Katarina is a chaotic evil (not chaotic stupid) rogue/ninja who, after a brush with shadow magic, seeks the path of shadow dancer.
Lee Sin is a lawful evil hungry ghost qinggong monk. 'Nuff said =D
My preference, in order, is Karthus, then Lee, then Katarina. I really hope I get in!

@ Black Dow & Joy: I'm a fan of the book-series your name is based on Dow, by the way - but I agree. If myself and Joy are in the same game, there will most likely be some very painful stories to talk about. I'm still debating on whether to get the Destruction domain or the Torture inquisition...
@Elondor: I see someone likes League of Legends also. >)
On another note, I've got my concept summarized in about five background events. Just need to write it up and spread it out.

Elondor |

@KMB YEESSS. I generally like to pick a game/movie/book/etc to name my characters after if the concept seems fitting to the name, I find it fun!
Lee Sin will essentially be a ki-heavy monk that can steal ki to power his abilities. He'll be a crit warrior to help feul his abilities =D Sidenote, can a magus channel through his fists?

Tim Bürgers |
I´d like to contribute a tiefling inquisitor, probably of a minor evil deity. I guess I will go archery and be pretty skill-heavy.
I guess, it will be a warmonger serving Szuriel, the Horseman of War. He intrigates and manipulates people to wage war against each other. He also profits from war as he is a weapon-dealer (profession).

I think you can make a pretty cool party with the people here. If only there was a second GM willing to put up with the evilness. I am already GMing 2 campaigns, and I would prefer playing instead.

At 8th level, and every six levels thereafter, this bonus increases by an additional +1.
Armor Expert You have worn armor as long as you can remember, either as part of your training to become a knight's squire or simply because you were seeking to emulate a hero.
Bonus Feat Humans select one extra feat at 1st level.
Cavalier's Charge (Ex) At 3rd level, a cavalier learns to make more accurate charge attacks while mounted. The cavalier receives a +4 bonus on melee attack rolls on a charge while mounted (instead of the normal +2). In addition, the cavalier does not suffer any penalty to his AC after making a charge attack while mounted.
Challenge (Ex) 2/day [Swift Action], you can challenge a foe to combat. Choose one target within sight to challenge. Your melee attacks deal extra damage whenever the attacks are made against the target of the challenge. This extra damage is 3. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day for every three levels beyond 1st, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level. Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier's concentration. The cavalier takes a -2 penalty to his Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of his challenge. The challenge remains in effect until the target is dead or unconscious or until the combat ends. Each cavalier's challenge also includes another effect which is listed in the section describing the cavalier's order., his allies receive a +1 circumstance bonus on melee attack rolls against the target of his challenge whenever he is threatening the target. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels the cavalier possesses.
Indomitable Faith You were born in a region where your faith was not popular, yet you never abandoned it.
Mount (Ex) A cavalier gains the service of a loyal and trusty steed to carry him into battle. This mount functions as a druid's animal companion, using the cavalier's level as his effective druid level. The creature must be one that he is capable of riding and is suitable as a mount. A Medium cavalier can select a camel or a horse. A Small cavalier can select a pony or wolf, but can also select a boar or a dog if he is at least 4th level. The GM might approve other animals as suitable mounts. A cavalier does not take an armor check penalty on Ride checks while riding his mount. The mount is always considered combat trained and begins play with Light Armor Proficiency as a bonus feat. A cavalier's mount does not gain the share spells special ability. A cavalier's bond with his mount is strong, with the pair learning to anticipate each other's moods and moves. Should a cavalier's mount die, the cavalier may find another mount to serve him after 1 week of mourning. This new mount does not gain the link, evasion, devotion, or improved evasion special abilities until the next time the cavalier gains a level.
Order (Ex) At 1st level, a cavalier must pledge himself to a specific order. The order grants the cavalier a number of bonuses, class skills, and special abilities. In addition, each order includes a number of edicts that the cavalier must follow. If he violates any of these edicts, he loses the benefits from his order's challenge ability for 24 hours. The violation of an edict is subject to GM interpretation. A cavalier cannot change his order without undertaking a lengthy process to dedicate himself to a new cause. When this choice is made, he immediately loses all of the benefits from his old order. He must then follow the edicts of his new order for one entire level without gaining any benefits from that order. Once accomplished, he gains all of the bonuses from his new order. Note that the names of these orders might vary depending upon the campaign setting or GM's preference.
Order of the Dragon Whenever an order of the dragon cavalier uses Survival to provide food and water for his allies or to protect his allies from harsh weather, he receives a bonus on the check equal to 1/2 his cavalier level (minimum +1).
Skilled Humans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level.
Tactician (Ex) At 1st level, a cavalier receives a teamwork feat as a bonus feat. He must meet the prerequisites for this feat. As a standard action, the cavalier can grant this feat to all allies within 30 feet who can see and hear him. Allies retain the use of this bonus feat for 3 rounds plus 1 round for every two levels the cavalier possesses. Allies do not need to meet the prerequisites of these bonus feats. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day at 5th level and for every 5 levels thereafter.

Tenro wrote:i am thinking antipaladin, later to take hellknight. These are actually mutually exclusive. Antipaladins must be Chaotic Evil, Hellknights must be Lawful.
dang, i wrongly assumed the antipaladin to be LE because whenever i played a blackguard back in the day he was LE.
also with all this interest in people playing melee types i might go back to my previous idea of an undead lord. i really like the idea of a teifling hellknight though...

Joy |

Well, now I have a new author to check out after finding out where Black Dow's name came from.
@KMB - though the stories may be very painful, I'm sure they'll also be enjoyable for the pair involved.
And now I'm contemplating Bard/Burglar. Still NE, either human or half-elf or halfling. I'm going to have to go and make a new alias now to play with concepts behind.

AdamWarnock |

Sooooo, any chance for a late-comer to throw his hat into the ring?
I had an idea for an off-their-rocker monster hunter type character, similar to Dexter. Most definitely evil, but still has some positive attributes.
@ Fatespinner: I'm reading through the RotRL campaign your in with Aubrey as the GM, good stuff.
EDIT: My preference would be 1, 3, then 2.

![]() |

@Joy I recently finished BSC. I must say, caution first, always. But not too much derailing.
EDITED: I think I'm going to settle on inquisitor of Zon-Kuthon for sure. it took me a bit to look around, and get my bearings, but I know how I want my concept fleshed out. It fits better with what I have written up for possible choices.
When it comes to inflicting pain and agony, none can top the Lord of Loss.

Alrighty folks, I have filled the table.
The magic number was #1: an open style 'sandbox' game in which the PCs will be beholden to no one but themselves... at least initially. That is the kind of campaign I have been planning and thus, I am accepting the first 5 players who announced #1 as their first choice. Those players are:
Monkeygod
KMBCross
Ex Lege Libertas
Abrar "Glade" Ajmal
Black Dow
My sincere apologies to those who were not selected, but I felt this was the best way to align my ideas for the campaign with those players who were most interested in what I had to offer.
On the plus side, the incredible amount of support in this thread suggests that there are enough players for a second (if not third!) game for another GM to pick up.
I will be getting some campaign info compiled shortly and should have the OOC discussion thread for the campaign up by day's end. We can more fully explore character concepts and whatnot over there.

Loup Blanc |

I so want to get into an evil campaign! I was practically cursing the computer and internets when I saw that I missed Fatespinner's post by less than a minute.
AdamWarnock, count me as a definite want-to-play for anything evil you do! Dungeon crawls are a person closet love of mine (most people seem to prefer other kinds of gameplay).
I don't have any set character ideas in mind; I can adapt to anything other people want. I've played a little of everything, I think, but I haven't yet played a summoner, and I'd be interested in playing a soulknife from the 3rd party psionics stuff. I'm understanding if you ban either/both of those, though.

All races from ARG are open. If you don't have it, any monster that has _______ as a character is open.
Evil only, CE only if you explain how you imagine it works and I agree that it's fine.
Actually, let me get a recruitment thread up real quick.
I'm going to be making this up as I go, so forgive me if things get a little inconsistent.
