If this is the wrong thread to post this, I apologize and will delete it if possible. Anyway, I'm currently seeking, as the title suggests, an evil rp-heavy campaign! I'd love to find a group where everyone is intelligent and doesn't play chaotic-stupid. If anyone has a game starting up or a role to be filled, please contact me. Thanks!

Every time I see a thread like this, I get all misty-eyed and remember the one that got away.

Hmmmm, I have an open world campaign in mind that I've begun writing that evil characters would fit right in with... I'll think about it. I've not dm'd too much, and never online, but I've played enough to know what makes a good game. So, were I to attempt such a game, would you peoples be willing to give me time to write and plan it out? Also keep in mind that I may be a bit off my game for the first while.

Hmm. I wonder if I have the time and energy to commit to trying this again. My last campaign died because half my players disappeared, and I invested a whole lotta work in that thing.
I suppose if I prepped a campaign with an eye towards "swapability," meaning that any given player could drop out and be replaced on the fly, that could work.

Yeah, I have pretty high standards for my games. There will be no "raving psychotics" at my table, unless they can manage to do so in a way that makes them productive. At the end of the day, the purpose of an evil campaign is to illustrate the ways in which evil WORKS. If evil was simply evil for evil's sake, good's job would practically already be done for them.
I also tend to run very "mature" games, often with controversial issues that may make some people uncomfortable. This doesn't necessarily mean sex or rape, but it sometimes can if that's where the story goes. Suffice to say that I won't introduce such story elements simply for the shock value. Anything of that persuasion would be done with intent towards promoting the story. It's also possible that such issues could be avoided entirely (particularly if my players are vocal in their opposition to such ahead of time), but I feel that evil does not censor itself for the benefit of others. *IF* people are interested in having me head up a game, take a long, hard look at the campaign I ran before and decide if that's the kind of game you want.

Fatespinner,
I don't need to read another campaign to know that you would be a great GM for such an event. You must be mature in order to play in an evil campaign, or else you'll end up with a whole bunch of Helter Skelter characters. I think that the majority of the people here do not have posting issues, I'm on everyday, and we would happily play in such a campaign. Please consider running this campaign, I feel that if I am chosen for it I will try to post everyday.
Sincerly,
Tirq

I would be interested in playing two different characters, both are Lawful Evil.
- A "Dragon Rider" warlord style character. Summoner with a Dragon themed Eidolon. This would be a character for a higher level group.
- A sorcerer with Arcane bloodline, focusing on Conjuration magic.
Would prefer the first choice, but I know some DMs are against Summoners and/or high level starting campaigns.

Give me a few days to consider it, then. If there are some other GMs here who want to step up and start one, don't let me stop you. We've certainly had enough interest expressed in this thread alone to start TWO such games. I need to figure out whether or not I really have the time to commit to this and, furthermore, I need to build a plotline to inflict on you.

Hypothetically speaking, for those who are interested:
Which sort of campaign would interest you MOST?
1.) A campaign in which the PCs are relatively unknown, acquire some privileged information by providence, and begin a quest to acquire artifacts, power, and wealth. (This kind of campaign probably has the highest chance of party in-fighting, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. This is the most 'sandboxy' type of campaign.)
2.) A campaign in which the PCs are all established members of some organization, fulfilling the desires of their superiors, and eventually learn of a means to advance their own power and positions within that organization. (In this scenario, the PCs have a vested interest in working together and are still under the thumb of their superiors, even as they advance in station. This kind of campaign tends to be more 'railroady' than other types, since the PCs are still answering to their superiors, but they gain more freedom as they move up.)
3.) A campaign in which the PCs are essentially forced to "do good" for personal gain, likely to preserve their own way of life or the integrity of a favorable church/organization. This generally ends up being an evil vs. evil campaign, with the PCs fighting against other evil entities/organizations. (This kind of campaign would be similar to my 'Fade to Black' campaign, in which evil characters were essentially going to save the Shadow Thieves from some unknown threat in order to continue the status quo.)
Please choose ONE of these answers. "I'm up for whatever" is not an acceptable response. :)
My reason for doing this is because I have a particular campaign that I want to run, and that campaign fits one of these three types. Because there are too many players in this thread for one game, I figure I will take all the people who WANT the kind of game I am interested in running. The others can join the next one that pops up. Seems fair, yes/no? You get what you want, I get what I want.

Soo..."I'm up for whatever" is not acceptable, right?
How about "I'm up for whatever gets me in Fatespinner's game?"...
Sorry, couldn't resist.
If I truly had to choose, I guess I would pick option 1. Not that I have a problem being tied into an organization, or "doing good" in order to survive, but the freedom allowed with one would fit me and a few of my concepts the best.

Also, I intend to accept no more than 5 players. I find that having more than that slows the game down considerably. The first five players who respond with a desire to play the kind of campaign I want to run will have guaranteed seats.
Seeing Tenro's post, yes, list your preference in descending order. On the chance that I don't get five people who list "the golden number" as their first choice, preference will be given to people who list it as their second choice, then third (if I still haven't filled all 5).

Option 2 seems pretty much fun. 2-3-1
Yeah, it is really a pity, when someone has a lot of work preparing a campaign and then others jump off to the point, where re-recruitment isn´t an option.
One thing that many people forget, is, that evil characters also love, have friends and (especially the lawful ones) have a few ideals.
Party-infighting in my experience, is often a showstopper. So the organization-thing could be the best thing indeed. We once had a group of dark-elves under the religious banner of their god who tried to root out a huge dwarven city. It was a militaristic and religious fanatic style of campaign and lots of fun, because their was only very little infighting.
If I´m in, I´d like to play something, that is only possible in an evil group: Antipaladin, Cook-People-Witch, Cleric of an evil god, necromancer...
May I make a suggestion? What about playing a circle of Thayan Wizards? Some could be the Protectors, others the wizards. This type of campaign would require more than one wizard of course...

I'm planning to set this campaign in Golarion, so Thayans would be out.
However, there's nothing to prevent the possibility of a cabal of Bloatmages or Chelaxian Devil-Binders and their entourage. :)

3, 2, 1. I would greatly like to play as a non-unknown; should be quite fun.
I agree. 2-3-1
I think if you were to mix together 2 and 3, for example: The law sends a dirty cop, the street thug, the wanna be necromancer, and the torturous cleric do deal with the mafia.
Sorry, Its night time for me, so I'll be heading off now. I'll be up in the morning, though.
Maybe a mix, with well-known, known and unknown.

1-2-3, but really, each style appeals to some part of me. I just went with what seemed order of freedom.
Not saying I want to play some chaotic, do anything cuz I feel like it type, but it would be far more fun to create our own organization(s) than belong to one.
I saw 2 as a organisation to take over and remould in our own image thus doing what you wanted (at least in a way)

I think I'd be most down for playing 1-3-2, in that order. I'm a big fan of choice over forced decisions, since the last time I played an evil game, things didn't exactly... go as planned. I had to relieve a player of his character over a disagreement that led us to a large stalemate that kept looping for an hour. /sadface.

Looks like we've already got a substantial amount of interest. I'll make my determination Monday night (I work nights 11pm - 7am EST, which is where I do most of my updating from) and let people know who is in for this game.
In case people want to start scheming character concepts, I will tell you this much: I will be starting this campaign at level 3 and will be using the Pathfinder Society rules for character generation (20 pt. buy, 2 traits, core races only + tiefling/aasimar, etc.).
A few other things to be aware of:
1.) I am not allowing the summoner class. I personally feel the class is disruptive and unbalanced. End of discussion.
2.) Characters must be evil. I don't want any "neutral with a mean streak" characters. If we're gonna do this, let's do it all the way.
3.) Leadership is banned. There will be plenty of NPCs to interact with over the course of the campaign. The last thing I need is several MORE of them to account for following the party everywhere.
4.) No third-party material. There's plenty of flexibility permitted within the boundaries of Paizo's vast array of published material and I am familiar with the majority of it.
