Ox stats

Trying to find stats for an ox. I see that they can be purchased for 15gp under the Trade Goods rules in the Equipment chapter of the Core rulebook, but I can't find anything else on them anywhere, not even in Ultimate Equipment.

I would go with the same stats as the Aurochs, listed under herd animals on page 174 of the Bestiary. At least, that's my first inkling.

IIRC an ox is just a castrated bull. Aurochs are wild cattle never domesticated.

Mules and donkeys don't seem to have any stats except price either.

Yeah I've gone with the Aurochs for oxen stats. And pony for donkey stats

Hey RD, what is up with the recent bovine fetish? Trying to become a beef baron in game? ;-)

He is probably crafting magic beans, and acquired oxen as a result.

You mean like this?

I was revising an older character, Hama, who rode around in a wagon pulled by oxen. It occurred to me that I ad never statted out her oxen and that there were, in fact, no stats anywhere to be found.

What's with these live action, edgier takes on fairy tales? First Little Red Riding Hood, then Snow White, now Jack and the Beanstalk?

Edgier? Have you ever read any fairy tales? They are brutal!

Fair point.

Like asking for edgier snuff films.

Moving on, if Ox is Auroch, stat wise, then what is a chicken?

Cat with wings.

Dodo with young template?

Lunch?

The 2cp chickens from the Core book? Or the 1gp deluxe models from Ultimate Equipment?

Why need stats on chickens? Planning on taking one as a familiar, or animal companion and buffing the heck out of it for combat?

Cockfights of course!

I would consider giving them the Docile quality, making their attacks secondary. Of course, if an oxen really kicks or gores you, it will be nasty but it would be an easy way of reflecting their domestic nature -- and make it less seem like a monster is pulling your plow. :)

For chickens, take appropriate bird stats and remove flight and apply appropriate debuffing templates.

Only if their wings have been clipped - chickens can fly just fine.

Or rather: they can fly. Sort of.

But good call on oxen being docile.
