This also impacts TWF and quick draw. Hold a greatsword 2h, take all your iterative attacks, free action to hold it one handed, quick draw your off hand weapon, take your TWF attacks.

That works by the rules, provided that you took the TWF penalties on all your iterative attacks.

It just gets kinda silly.

It's very silly to expect a character to do well at both two-handed weapon attacks and two-weapon fighting. I seriously doubt it would be effective.

Im sorry what was this about? mistake post? I think you put this somewhere you didnt intend to 8D
Will ask to remove

Gobo Horde, I'm guessing that a discussion in one of the PFS forums devolved (or evolved, if you prefer) into a rules question, so he took it here.

Starglim, I don't think it works at all. My understanding is that in order to get the extra attack, you have to actually be wielding another weapon in your off hand while taking the full attack action -- and you have to be holding it to wield it.

Think about every movie you've ever watched. This is a story-telling game, so rules are written in light of tropes, and can only be interpreted correctly in the same light. Drawing ammo for iterative ranged attacks is a free action in a sequential process; however, when fighting with two melee weapons (or throwing a weapon from each hand), you're doing it all at the same time, which is why you get an extra attack without being a better combatant.

If you get more than one attack per round because your base attack bonus is high enough (see Base Attack Bonus in Chapter 3), because you fight with two weapons or a double weapon, or for some special reason, you must use a full-round action to get your additional attacks.

If rules had to be written in light of tropes, nobody in plate armour could mount a horse or stand up from prone. I don't think it's a bad thing to tell stories about smart and tricky fighters using unorthodox tactics.

In movies that I can recall that involved large blades and polearms, skilled combatants overcame the close-in unwieldiness of their weapons by taking extra attacks of any sort they could - most handily, kicks, headbutts, strikes with the haft, or half-sword and grappling techniques, but also drawing light weapons for surprise stabs or special effects. The sequence that another poster mentioned and that I agree is sub-optimal and not to be encouraged repetitively would, in fact, most likely be a one-shot to defeat one opponent quickly, since it leaves the attacker with a lesser weapon in one hand and unable to attack next round with his main weapon unless he drops something.

Then it would work if your off hand is an unarmed attack or a gauntlet type weapon right?

Nope, you need to be wielding two weapons. To wield a two-handed weapon you need to use both hands, in which case you have no additional limbs to wield an offhand attack. Similarly if you hold the two-handed weapon in one hand you are not wielding it.
