Request: Charisma Based Inquisitor and Magus Archetype

Homebrew and House Rules

Hello Paizo,
Very simple thread. I think it might neat if we could see an official archetypes where these caster classes use charisma verses their normal class stats (wisdom and intelligence).

Thank you,
-Hexen

In my opinion, a Spontaneous Magus would probably be much more powerful... I only prepare about the same spells each day.

Who ever said anything about Spontaneous Caster anything?

Mechanically speaking, the three different mental stats (Int, Wis, Char) are reserved for each specific type of spellcasters

All Int based Spellcasters use Spellbooks of some sort to store spells, have to collect spells to add to their list of spells known, and have to prepare spells.

All Wis based Spellcasters do not have to store spells, they know all their spells right off the bad, but they still have to prepare spells.

All Char based Spellcasters do not have to store spells or prepare them, but they always have a limited list of spells known. They also usually have more spells per day.

(The only odd duck here is the Paladin, who uses Cha to prepare divine spells for some reason, which I always thought was kinda stupid to be honest)

I mean, at the end of the day, these are the established conventions, and I don't see Paizo breaking from them.

And the inquisitor... and the special sorcerer bloodlines... and...

Forgot about the inquisitor. Thx

As for sorcerer, if you play sorcerer your class is bad and you should feel bad. Play a Wizard ;)

Hey now, Seoni has at least 500% more breasts than Ezren, and that counts for a lot.

Yes, but unlike Seoni, Ezren probably has access to Alter self since he knows more than like 2 spells, so he can give himself breasts whenever he feels like it.

And that was probably the weirdest thing I will write all night.

I believe somewhere in the Cursed Items chapter of the Core Rulebook, there is an image of Ezren being transformed into a woman (supposedly by a Gird of Gender Change), so he doesn't even need Alter Self.

Then again, why I'm dicussing a the breasts of a fictional old man?

By god, internet, what have you done to me?

Mechanically speaking, this is a archetype, and there is already a presidence (spelling?) for a sorcerer casting off of Intelligence and Wisdom from an archetype bloodline without changing their casting type. SO your argument sort of falls flat there.

Isn't that the bard?

The inquisitor's spell casting fits the Cha based criteria you mentioned (spontaneous casting of any spell known), yet they cast from Wis and not Cha. . .

Why did this get moved to the house rules form? This is not a request for someone to amateurishly make a variant, I was hoping for professional and I take a little offense to this.

Last time I checked, this subforum was called "Suggestions".

However that's beside the point, which is: tell us, how do you *really* feel?

It got moved to the Suggestions forum.

Suggestions forum as well as Homebrew. You are making a suggestion. Ergo...

Honest? Like they didn't want to hear it or what others had to say on the subject so they tossed it into a dark pit where they wouldn't have to deal with it.

Uh, no. The forum is called "Suggestions/House Rules/Homebrew". Its for all suggestions; even those to Paizo. As a company, they're renowned for their listening skills so I don't understand why you think your suggestion is falling on deaf ears simply because it was moved into the appropriate forum. To be bluntly honest, you're coming off as rather whiny and shallow right now, and that's probably the best way to get your opinions ignored.

If you want to make them heard, come up with a good argument. Why do we need alternate casting stat Magi? Why don't we need alternate casting stat Witches or Wizards when the Magus is heavily entrenched in the same kind of study-heavy flavor as those two are? And since when did having a great personality make you good at memorizing spells from your spell book? (Since you said that you were not suggesting that Paizo make a Spontaneous Casting Magus.)

Well with the forum's other focuses it just doesn't seem like the sort of place they would check often for ideas. This section seems more like a house rules and home brew. I am sorry if I am coming off as whiny and shallow but on any other forum I have ever seen for any other game has at least a stand alone suggestion forum, however in all of those the devs pay even less attention to the threads; so what am I supposed to think about a forum that mixes its suggestions with home-brew? This maybe wrong but you need to know where I am coming from here.

If your argument had any merit then the wishlist for Monster Manual X thread would be here too. So pardon me for feeling like I have had my idea tossed out with the trash.

P.S. However I do hope you are right.

Charisma Inquisitor is perfectly reasonable regardless.
