Wolf Trip(Ex) and polymorph spells

Rules Questions

You lose abilities based on physical form of the original body when you polymorph.

Just wondering if a wolf Trip (Ex) with its bite is an ability based on form or if it can still trip with bite attacks assuming the new polymorphed form uses a bite attack ?

It is based on form. It would be lost.

Question: how is the wolf being polymorphed?

Sylvan Sorcerer , share spells, beast shape I or better

Just checking. I know there were means to get a Class with both Beast Shape and an Animal Companion but I was curious which means you were using.

Aye discussing that in this thread

Crazy Mounts

still hvaing a hard time settling on an animal companion becuase knowing that your going to polymorph it changes the value of all the possible companions and as far as I can tell its better to get one with the highest STR/DEX/CON since your going to lose natural armor and attacks in the shift

of course not until you get 3rd level spells so there's a lag where you still need your companion to be decent

then throw in me trying to use it as a mount and potentially using a goblin who's crossblooded with sage and yeah things get complicated ;)

Actually second level spells as you can always alter self them into

Lizard man form (2 Claws(d4), Bite(d4), 15 ft Swim speed)

Tabaxi (2 Claws(d4), Bite(d3), Darkvision, Scent) or

Hybrid Form Werebat (2 Claws(d4), Bite(d6) Lowlight Vision, Scent) of course this one may be a litle dodgy :D
