[Interest Check] A Campaign Based On Avatar: The Last Airbender

Recruitment

I was looking at some creations on d20 and found the Element Master Monk Archetype. It's a class based on bending. I would like to find a GM and three or more players. Here is the link: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/community-creations/zerzix-s-torture-chamber

I wish I could, but my GMing plate is quite full already. Still, I love AtLA and would love to play in such a game were it ever to take place. :)

here is the link
Edit: baron, I don't think this is the link you meant to give.

Edit 2: I think this is more the thing.

Yes it is. The Class is at the bottom of the page.

Yeah, the second link I put up links straight to the class, which is a bit easier.

I guess no one is interested. Maybe I shouldn't have posted this thread with the epic level campaigns. I hope I get picked for those. I especially want to play my Orread Fighter Monk.

I'd be interested to play.

The Exchange

Hey! I'll play. I haven't GMed a whole lot, but I would be willing to.

I'll throw my interest in this down. I'm new to the PbP format but I haven't had an RP group in quite some time and I've started fiending for play lately heh.

The Exchange

I'd be willing to show you how PbP works, if you want. Its not hard, and a lot if it is just typing anyhow. Makes playing the opposite gender a bit more believable. :)

Seems simple enough, and I enjoy writing.

A bit on topic though. Would we play in the last air bender era where the Fire Nation is at war with the world, or Legend of Korra. Or even further perhaps, because air benders are still pretty much non-existent.

The Exchange

If I were to do something, I would say "In the time of Kyoshi", but thats just me.

It doesn't have to be PbP either, it could be over Skype/roll20.net. And if your willing to GM, you've got at least two players now, Guybrush (Nice name choice by the way, love Monkey Island games.) and I. Don't know about Iyonora though.

And Hragas. So it looks like we could have a group right now.

Whooo! So glad I bumped it!

It's Lynora. So many people mistake my hatred of capital letters for my name starting with an I instead of an L. :)

I am definitely interested in being a player, although I'm much more likely to be able to do it in PBP format rather than over skype. My schedule gets a bit crazy at times so it can be difficult to coordinate a set time for me.

OK. It is still the GM's decision on PbP or Skype.

Thank you for bumping to the top Hragas.

I'd be interested, except for one particular point: The Elemental Master archetype is severely unbalanced. It effectively turns a monk into a one man killing machine that doesn't have to worry about range or exhausting his powers. It's like a monk/sorcerer gestalt class, only much more potent.

Should you decide to allow it, I would suggest a severe overhaul of the archetype - my biggest suggestions would be to cut flurry of blows, fast movement, and monk bonus feats. I'd also suggest looking through the elemental katas and assigning what level a character must be before taking it - there are a few, but too little for a lot of powerful katas that are equivalent to fourth or fifth level spells.

My voice is deep, slow, I go off Tangents easily, and I stutter. Lets do it PbP. I can at least tone it down there.

I look over the class and something comes to mind:

Its really weak. I mean, 1d6 HD and 1/2 BaB. Thats harsh. Also, there is a distinct lack of healing. Even in the Waterbending section. I'll make a feat for that, if thats alright with everyone. As far as I can tell, all the feats are unlimited use. No problem there, its different, and we like different.

One more thing, I'm currently on vacation. I'll officially be done with it on Friday. This is good news because thats when your characters will be done, hopefully, and thats when I'll create the campaign. The setting is already built, which is nice, but I have to figure out how it everything works.

Lynora and Guybrush, Capitol letters in names are required. :)

And now to read up on the Avatar Wiki.

I'd be interested, but would need to keep it to PBP.

Azreal, did you post your concerns in the thread that spawned the class?

The Exchange

AZRAEL DUKSHI!!! YOU NINJA!!!

It is unbalanced, to those points, but there is no healing. Put it in another campaign setting and it would be strong. But this is the only class that will show up. In fact, to make it like Avatar, I feel like saying that this is the [b]only[/i] class would make sense.

If everyone is alright with that ruling, just this class, another one pops up. No-one will be the Avatar. That would scream main character and I don't really want that. Its a team game, after all.

The Exchange

KRYZBYN!!!!!!!! YOU NINJA!!!!!

Would you link for a thread about that?

Tirq, sympathies from a fellow stutterer. This is why I only run games in PBP format as well. As soon as I get flustered I can't get a word out.

And sorry but I can't fix the name thing now. ;P

I'm in no rush, and just glad to have someone decide to take up the game. Hope your vacation goes well.

Now to narrow it down to just one character concept....:)

The Exchange

I meant for the character.

Also, I'll start up the actual Recruitment here pretty soon. First, I'll have to find out how...

HERE is a link to the thread, the latest version's link is at the botom...

The Exchange

That link doesn't like me. I'll just go with the one at the top of the screen and the one open in my browser.

And thanks for the link.

The Exchange

Alright, guys, its open. Start posting and I'll get to you soon.

For the record, if it takes place when you said it would, none of us could be the Avatar. We would have to be Kiyoshi, and I don't see that going well as a level one PC.
