Was just browsing the cantrips to see if there's anything interesting as far as using magical knack to apply a metamagic to a cantrip for free.
the only one of note I found is ray of frost and Rime spell which would give you an at will ranged touch attack to entangle but small issue of it saying the entangle lasts for rounds = spell level which is 0 :P
so would it last for the remainder of the round or simply have no effect.
my gut says no effect
I would say it has no effect, since it is a 0 lv spell it wouldn't even last 1 round. Also, you're thinking of magical lineage, not magical knack.
