Burn Notice

Television

One of the only shows I actually will watch (other than N.C.I.S.) I love the premise of the show and I think he could give Bond a run for his money, especially if he has the help of his Miami team! Sure I could have posted several years ago, but the ending of the recent one...
Okay, last Thursdays ending brought a tear to my eye. When Michael was about to get the man who set up Fi and the man was shot, taking out Michale's brother in the process.

Am I the only one?

You are not the only one!

What is Burn Notice!? <-SNL Skit

When describing Burn Notice to people who have never seen it, I say "Imagine Bond and McGuyver as one awesome character. Oh, and lots of Miami beach skin." :)

I've only seen it on Netflix instant stream though, so I didn't even realize the show goes on after Michael gets his official gig back.

Definitely not. Burn Notice is a fantastic show.

Scarab Sages

Love the show, sadly they aired only three seasons in Germany yet.

I used to really enjoy this show, but the standard formula for most weeks finally got too tedious for me...

USE SPOILER TAGS.

Jesus.

That's just about a perfect description; I'm using it the next time someone asks!

Personally, I don't know if Michael's mother will be able to forgive him for

Spoiler:
Nate's death
; any thoughts?

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens Subscriber

I loved the show but stopped watching when jesse became super prominent, just didn't connect or like that character kinda killed the series for me.

She will forgive him.

spoiler:
She only has one son left.

The story line for the series is still going strong! Recent twists have developed that I didn't see coming! I don't wish to spoil it for those of you who don't know, so I will leave it at that.

All in good fun mate. I will need to sit down someday and have a Burn Notice marathon. I'll be sure to have plenty of cold beers and some pizza.

np, np. Most definitely all in good fun, but man alive that was an episode!

Something to remember...

Spoiler:
Not only was this guy his CIA handler, he was his training officer and who "taught him everything he knows" (or however that goes). Now, not only is he directly involved in Nate's death, he may very well have been the one running Anson and be behind the whole ball of wax (the original burn notice).

Now Micheal and his team have to find a way back to get back to the states and take this guy on while having to remain "dead." It ought to be a fun ride.

Spoiler:
Curse his sudden but inevitable betrayal

I see Mike's mom doing something about it!

Thank goodness most of the episodes are on Netflix!

So now I am stuck waiting for the new season....waiting....is it here yet?

Sorry I have been away for a while. I have been busy writing my book and I have to say Burn Notice is beating me to some of the best scenes!

Movie plot spoiler:
After Mike arrives on scene he hands c-4 to Fi and Jesse.
After the chargers are placed and everyone is let in on the game plan he begins on the police band radio (seeing as how there is a cop that is about to die at the hands of the lead gang banger)
"Can you hear me, 'cause we can hear you. Every word."
"Who is this?" Was the only thing the bad guy could say and that is when Mike let loose!
"My name is (he pushes a detonator)BOOOOOOM!!!! From the department (pushes another one) BOIOOOOM!!!!"

They just can't leave anything for anyone in this one!

Well another season has ended...funny how it only seems to last for a few episodes...It has been full of surprises though! I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so I won't go into detail, but it is a must watch season!

Great show I have been watching since the Season 1 premiere. It started out much more as the Equalizer with the trappings of a spy show at the edges. Much of the time I see their crazy plans and think, "That actually sounds plausible enough to work."

USA is planning a 13 episode season 7.

I remember an article with show creator Matt Nix in which he stated that everything Michael does will work on real life, just that they leave out some of the more important details.

burn notice is no more! season 7 was the last :(

I can't say I liked the direction they took Michael's character in Season 7. I understand it, but I didn't like it.

i stopped watching after they killed off his brother, seemed rather cliche to me and it completely killed my interest in the show, and yes i also thought what happens to his mom in last episode was stupid to, if any character in that show deserved a stress free retirement it was hers

I agree, if any character deserved a peaceful end, it was Mrs. Weston. However, at least the writers gave her sacrifice some meaning within the context of the show; they didn't kill her off only because the end of the show was approaching.

Sovereign Court

I stopped watching this around season 2. I got the feeling the show was always going to be "sorry Michael Weston but the guy who burned you is in another condo." Worth checking out on netflix or on demand?

I would say yes. For me, after the first 2-3 seasons the show wasn't so much about the "villain of the week/story arc/season" as I was interested in the relationships between the characters; YMMV. As far as your concern Michael would always have the rug pulled out from under him:

Spoiler:
Michael does eventually get to take down the people who burned him, but finds that getting back in the good graces of the CIA after being burned involves more than he thought. For example, he ends up getting used by and subsequently killing his former handler.
