ok so im a little confused about how to go about this. i have a wand of summon monster 1, i used it to summon a riding dog to trigger traps for the group. so how would you go about making the dog "run down the hallway"?im not looking for anything complex, but would i need to make handel animal checks or would it just start running like a trained dog after i shout "go" and point the way i want him to run?
i know that in combat i can summon something and give it the command of attack while it is being summoned, but what about other commands when not in combat?
Handle Animal, unless you're riding it. Then it'd be Ride. And a bad idea anyways, since then you'd be hitting traps.
Also, riding dogs were erratad out of the summon monster I list, I think.

i figured out a work around to the handle animal, i just put a point into linguistics and grabbed undercommon as a second language. now i can summon a mite and tell him exactly what i want him to do.
lazarx, i purchased a wand just for springing traps and provoking npcs from a safe distance. so i only need 6 seconds and a full run action to go 80 feet.
Might try a wand of mount for such an occasion? (I think its 2 hours per lvl!) More hp, send that pony a walking!

i was thinking that, but i was playing a cleric. sitting there for 20 rounds failing my umd checks would annoy me lol. also i think mount requires a handle animal check if underground.
Ah, did not know you were a cleric. (At least the spell says the mount serves willingly and well.)

i was going to use a mite, using quite a few resources to get SNA 1. but my friend told me in PFS they allw alternate summoning from AP's so that means a bloody skeleton will be my new mine sweeper.
What god do you have to worship to get bloody skeletons?
