Hey guys,
I decided for the sake of things (and because if it works it'll be an awesome concept) that I should make Batman.
I've come up with an incredibly complicated build that I'm still trying to get my head around, but although incomplete, it seems pretty awesome to me so far.
The idea is to base this around a Monk (Martial Artist), dip one level Rogue, then have 6 levels of Alchemist (Internal for the Archetype abilities and the Fly Discovery).
Str: 14
Dex: 17
Con: 12
Wis: 15
Int: 13
Cha: 7
This build ensures Batman can:
Craft Batarangs (which he would purchase the returning property for), have a bat claw, attack from the shadows, fly (glide), be alert, make multiple attacks of opportunity, be great at stealth and perception, trip and disarm foes, power attack and sneak attack with a flurry of blows up to 1d10 each, can entangle enemies holding them in place and can throw down smoke bombs to disappear.
He'll have spiked bracers (purely aesthetic, offering no bonus - fluff) until he can afford bracers of armour. At which point, he'll craft blades to attack (again, for aesthetics only)with his disarm attempts, so they look like, work and are themed in the same way as Batman does it (where he disarms people with his forearm spikes in the movies, cartoons and comics).
Feats:
1. Skill Focus: Disguise, Skill Focus: Stealth, Combat Reflexes, Improved Unarmed Strike
2. Weapon Finesse: Unarmed Strikes
3. Death From Above
5. Skill Focus: Perception
7. Power Attack, Alertness
9. Combat Expertise
10. Improved Disarm
11. Weapon Focus: Unarmed Strike, Great Fortitude
13. Weapon Specialisation
15. Critical Focus
17. Improved Critical, Improved Trip
Skills:
Acrobatics 1 rank, 3 dex, 3 class = 7
Craft 1 rank, 1 int, 3 class = 5
Disguise 1 rank, -2 cha, 3 skill focus = 2
Perception 1 rank, 2 wis, 3 class = 6
Stealth 1 rank, 3 dex, 3 class, 3 skill focus = 10
Climb (Untrained until level 5)
Disable Device (Untrained until level 5)
Escape Artist (Untrained)
Fly (Untrained until level 5 - for cape, which uses the level 6 Alchemist Wing Discovery)
Intimidate (Untrained until level 5)
Traits: Undecided.
Heart of the Wilderness: Replace Skilled
Favoured Class: Monk
Gear: Smoke Bombs, Batclaw (Grappling Hook), Batarang (Bat shaped Shuriken), Batman Disguise, Tanglefoot Bag
Gear to get: +5 Amulet of Mighty Fists, +5 Ring of Protection, +8 Bracers of Armour.
Level Progression:
1. Monk
2. Monk
3. Alchemist
4. Monk
5. Rogue (Sneak Attack: 1d6)
6. Monk
7. Alchemist (Feat instead of Discovery)
8. Monk
9. Alchemist
10. Monk (Bonus Feat)
11. Alchemist (Feat instead of Discovery)
12. Alchemist
13. Monk
14. Alchemist (Wings Discovery)
15. Monk
16. Monk
17. Monk (Bonus Feat)

Heh - Monk/Alchemist was the first thing I thougth when I saw the thread title.

Haha.
It's pretty much my first time reading through the Alchemist section and although 6 levels Alchemist holds it back a lot, it's pretty good for internal resistance and the only way I've found so far to permanently gain fly.
Miss out on a huge amount of Monk damage though, but then Batman is about brains and combat diversity more than anything, with a bit of brawn thrown on top for good measure, so it should work out fine.
I'm torn between boosting Strength or Dex though.
If I boost Str, the attack and damage goes up, but as all of his armour is aesthetic and offers no AC bonus (Monks can't wear armour as it prevents them from taking advantage of most class abilities), I'm thinking I should boost Dex as it'll increase his AC and his to hit rate.
Still, if I can afford it, I'll go with a belt of Dex and Str. Seems the way forward with this guy. :D
Headband of Wisdom could boost his AC up even more and that can easily be hidden under his disguise, so it shouldn't effect his look.
I'll also say that he crafts his own armour (again, purely aesthetic. It's just crafting the look of what he wears, offering no AC bonus).

I took that into account, BUT....
While he's in the suit, he's an anti-hero, hated by many, liked and respected by others.
This is Batman, not his standard personality, Bruce Wayne. :p
If you base Charisma on looks alone, you can't see what he looks like, but when he does speak, it's usually gravelly and towards enemies, making bad people and convicted felons instantly hate him.
Oh, and he's a Vigilante. ;)
That's why Batman has a 7 Charisma. :)
You could always drop Wisdom and increase Charisma. This is why I'm open to ideas, but I think this works reasonably well for me.

Yeah but you're only thinking of the non combat version of charisma, you have to consider it's menacing side, intimidate, bluff as a diversion to hide etc.... Batman is straight.18's hence why he's considered a superhero despite having no superpowers.

Haha, yea but this is making him work in Pathfinder.
Drop Dex down to 16, giving you 2 extra points to work with, maybe drop con and one point of wisdom as well if you like, then add all of that into Charisma. It should be about 6 points.
Skill Focus: Intimidate is also an option, so it's not like you can't get around the Charisma aspect, but most people use it as a dump stat anyway, so my take on it is about as well balanced as I could get it, to fit into the Pathfinder world properly.
Talking with a GM about having a split personality is another option too.
In Bruce Wayne form, your stats could be completely different, with the Commoner template and a focus on Charisma, Strength and Intelligence. Then, as night falls, Batman comes out.
Tons of possibilities. :)
Feel free to adjust the stats to how you think they'd be (whilst trying to keep it as a workable character in the Pathfinder universe. Straight 18's would be silly and when the PC's reach the end of a campaign, they're practically superheroes anyway...maybe even demi-gods). :)

I realize this thread is probably dead, but the build idea came up tonight with my friends. The alchemist is a nice touch that I didn't think of. I might actually go ninja instead of rogue, considering that ninja allows some more unarmed combat and acrobatic tricks, plus the ki pool. Not to mention ninja is canon.
Also the second trait should be Rich Parents. Most DMs seem to ban it, but i think it's really appropriate here.
