i just want to lump these in here cause i play a beginner's box set character with my friend's core characters. i know it's a very odd mix.
so am i right about these?
beginner's box armor doesn't have armor check penalties.
just reduced movement for medium and heavy.
gorum's holy weapon is a longsword, not a greatsword.
there is no strength bow available in its equipment lists.
erastil's calming touch actually heals 1hp/cleric level.

It is entirely up to your GM how everything works together. Unless you are playing PFS of course.
i am playing PFS. my GM for that session was surprised i didn't have an armor check penalty. i hadn't noticed the omission myself, having relied on a computer program to crunch all my numbers. but currently i've made it to level 3 and hoping to level 5, before i'm forced to retool him into core rules.

yah! i've used that guide countless times - was just wondering if anyone had a running list of what the actual game mechanic differences were. it's kinda hard in my area cause noone plays the beginner's boxset but i'd like to get some use out of it since i purchased it.
