Vulpine Pounce, I have to shapeshift to Pounce?

Rules Questions

I'm making a Kitsune character for a campaign over on the Giant In The Playground forums and as I was looking over the rules for Kitsune, this confused me:
Vulpine Pounce (Combat, Kitsune)

Spoiler:

You can change shape mid-charge and pounce on an opponent in the same round.
Special: A kitsune may select this feat any time she would gain a feat.
Prerequisites: Swift Kitsune Shapechanger, base attack bonus +10, kitsune.
Benefit: When you change shape into your kitsune form and use the charge action in the same round, you can make a full attack against your opponent.

Do I have to shapeshift into kitsune form from human or fox form each time to get the benefit from Vulpine Pounce?
It seems really counter-intuitive to have it work like that. If I was a GM I would say you just need to be in kitsune form, but then the Swift Kitsune Shapechanger requirement doesn't make sense anymore.

pretty clear you need to shape shift.

But the thing is that I'm complaining about/trying to point out is that what if my character is already in kitsune form? Do I really have to change back to human or fox form and then change back to kitsune form to get this bonus? That's the part that's not making sense for me, even if the rules do say so.

Whether you are in human or fox form, you need to shift into your normal Kitsune form when you charge to get the pounce.

You'll only ever really be charging in round 1 of combat. Just start combat as a human. Problem solved. :)

You wont be getting the feat until level 10 for full BAB class or 15 for 3/4 BAB. Don't need to worry about it for a long time.

But what if I like going around in kitsune form? (Not that I will really, but it's a possibility.) Sorry if the title's misleading, because no one's saying that "Yes, you need to change from kitsune form to human form than back again if you feel like charging and you want to benefit from this feat."

What class are you? Most classes don't need that many swift actions. So that will still be charging every other round.

I think the idea is that as you shape-shift your quickly changing body throws off your opponent and leaves more openings. Or maybe as you shift your body monetarily becomes more fluid and lets you move in ways that you can't normally.

..Last post in this thread for arguing my point.

True, but it's just slightly silly to me that to benefit from this feat (without having to wait until the next round) you need to start the fight in human or fox form. >.< I'm going to be playing a Rogue with the Kitsune Trickster archetype.

hmm... I can see that making sense... >.< but I'm going to argue my side one more time before going with something like that.

Just the main thing that I can see hypothetically coming up is that suddenly your in a fight without time to react (rp wise) or after the nearby enemies have been killed is that you need to charge them and your a Warrior or something. So you'll need to shift twice to benefit from this feat; it just seems redundant to me in that situation and that's the only situation where that problem would probably appear. (Sorry if I'm rambling too much.) I'm willing to work around it as it won't come up very much, but the responses I've gotten so far say rules win over common sense. (Sorry if I'm being mean too)
