good low level scenario for cavaliers

My son wants to play his cavalier, but few of the PFS scenarios really lend themselves to mounted characters. Are there any low level scenarios which allow a mounted human to shine?

Scenario 0-3 (Murder on the Silken Caravan) is good. It has a couple encounters where his mount will really work well. However, it's one of the few low level scenarios I can think of where a mounted, medium-sized cavalier will shine.

#2-02: Rescue at Azlant Ridge. My Cavalier had good fun in that one.

Spoiler:
The first combat is against mounted opponents. The second is in a dungeon and the mount will have to be left behind, but the last is an extend battles with two corridors for charging against waves and waves of foes.

But it is the second of a two-part series and the first part offers nothing for Cavaliers, combat-wise.

Agreed !! Probably the best I can think off. Just take care for your mount - you are traveling through desert.

The 3rd part of quest for perfection is awesome for mounted characters, in more than 1 way. Unfortunately the other two don't work very well for mounts.

Society is really rough for medium sized cavaliers. Frankly, your son may want to try a different character, because if he wants to be mounted, he's going to be disappointed quite often.

We have a level 9 cavalier here in Fresno. He's never ridden his mount in combat. It's become a joke, with some players kidding him about his "Canadian mount".

However, even without a mount, a cavalier can be very good. The teamwork feats and challenges work well.

Same question: has something changed since 2012?

Hosteling armor is now available.

Murder on the Silken Caravan and Quest for Perfection 3, as have already been mentioned, are good ones, and Rescue at Azlant Ridge isn't too bad either. Other good ones would be Shades of Ice Part 3, Frostfur Captives, The Wardstone Patrol (for 3-7), and The Horn of Aroden. Also, to lesser extents Glass River Rescue and The Sanos Abduction. but yes, in general, horses are a tough companion to have until you can get hold of hosteling armor.

Shades of Ice 1 had a funny segment where we kited enemies to the street for the cavalier to charge.

So hmm, all of Shades, From Shore to Sea, Tide of Morning, Pallid Plague, Jester's Fraud and the Goblinblood Dead.

Honorary mentions, because having a mount is way too funny in parts: The Frostfur Captives and You Only Die Twice. Plenty of space to roam in both though.

Just as a heads-up, the Hao Jin scenarios are a particularly bad fit. Not only are most of them shaped like a level in Tomb Raider(no t-rexes though), traveling the tapestry requires the user to touch the correct symbol AND speak a command word*. So it's hosteling or bust!

Wonders in the Weave 1*:
When the party is ready to proceed, Aram Zey escorts them one by one onto the scaffold and instructs them to place their finger just to the left of a beige chevron design in the tapestry’s weave. Upon uttering a trigger word provided by the Master of Spells, each PC disappears from the Material Plane, whisked into the tapestry, and Aram Zey turns to the next PC to repeat the process.

Each PC arrives in Hao Jin’s demiplane instantaneously upon uttering the command word while touching the tapestry, and finds himself in a foot of cold, brackish, standing water. (p. 5, first column)

The Destiny of the sands 1+2 aren't BAD.... they each have at least one encounter that a mounted player can shine, but also have areas where you'd be without a mount.

Hmmm... is every demiplane scenario in season 3 a bad fit?

I remember hearing something in a scenario where animal companions/eidolons/familiars were okay to bring along due to their "close nature" with the PC, or something like that. Could the same thing apply?

I can't remember the context at all, sorry.

+1 to the Wardstone Patrol. Also, in First Steps Part 1, my cavalier's horse helped save the party from a TPK, earning it the name Bloodthirster. Generally try to stick to cross country tracks instead of dungeon crawls. I knew someone who had both a fighter and a cavalier around the same level and would ask the GM which would work better. Although the Fighter eventually out paced the cavalier... Maybe slow progression would have helped...

Could be. I bet Portal of the Sacred Rune works somewhat differently,
