the big question is, how many levels of gunslinger would you give up, and how early?
Little info, i'm playing a gunslinger that needs feats (kobold bushwhacker archetype, which gives up the bonus feats but grants sneak attack up to 5d6 at 20). the biggest issue here is that i am also being forced to be the party's trap character. I need deft shootist, which requires dodge and mobility. i'm already feat starved as i need a bunch of stuff to do my job. I was thinking of taking rogue 1/gunslinger 6/rogue 1/monk 2/gunslinger 10. that'll give me a bonus feat from rogue, and dodge and mobility from monk. gives me a bit more skills, some other wis synergy. was gonna trade out evasion for toughness and some natural armor in monk through an archetype.
i wanted to get to 5th to get the dex to gun damage asap. my feat spread is thus...
1- Point Blank Shot
3- Rapid Reload
5- Precise Shot
7- Deadly Aim
8R Rapid Shot
9- Improved Critical
M Mobility
10M Toughness
11- deft shootist
13- Improved Precise Shot
15- Signature Deed: Up close and personal
17- Improved Initiative
19- ???WIN???
Advice?

Throw in 4 levels of Fighter for unlocking Weapon Specialization, some extra feats and no BAB-loss.
Or maybe add some levels of Rogue (Sniper archetype) for some sneak attack goodness... maybe 4 levels (giving two Rogue Talents, 2d6 Sneak Attack, Evasion and Uncanny Dodge - losing just 1 BAB). Pick up Ranged Flank to get the best out of your sneak ability...

My suggestiond would be, get to 5th levle of Gunslinger ASAP for Gun Training.
Then get 2 levels in Ranger (archery combat style), that will give you 2 feats (1 bonus, 1 from character level) and minor Favored Enemy. You can use the bonus feat for Rapid Shot or Precise Shot, even if you don't fulfill the prerequisites. A 3rd level gets Endurance and Favored Terrain too, which cab very useful.
2 Fighter levels get 3 feats and heavy armor proficiency, but it has worse reflex saves, skill list and number of skills ranks per level.
None of them hamper you BAB progression.
Rogue is kinda sucky, as Sneak Attack is too situational for ranged attacks. The terrible saves and loss of BAB hurt too.
After getting whatever feats you really want, I'd suggest going all the way Gunslinger at least 'til you get 11 levels in the class, when you can get the Signature Deed feat, which is awesome. There is not much reason to go beyond 15 levels in Gunslinger unless you can get it up to 20th level.
I suggest Gunslinger 5 > Ranger 2 > Gunslinger 10 (15 total) > Fighter 3
Or Gunslinger 5 > Ranger 3 > Gunslinger 7 (11 total, for Signature Deed), Fighter 6.
If you are willing to sacrifice BAB, take a look at Inquisitor. 2 levels give you minor spell casting, detect allignment and the ability to add your Wisdom modifier to your already absurd Initiative! Plus tons of skills and skill points!
I once made a Gunslinger 5/Inquisitor(Preacher) 15. It was awesome! Adding Dexterity to damage, Bane/Judgement class features, spell casting AND a touch attacks from firearms more than compensated the slight reduction in BAB. Domain powers from Travel Domain didn't hurt either. Liberation and Luck domaisna re cool too.
Also, if traits are allowed, I'd recomend one that boosts Will save and another one that give you a skill you like/want/need as a class skill (Disable Device?). One for improving Initiative is great too, but with high dex + gunslinger initiative, it may be overkill. (Even if there is no such thing as much Initiative!)

Not sure what the bushwacker archetype is but why didn't you go Pistolero? You can have the same damage every shot no matter what at 11th lvl and no misfires at lvl 13. Plus missed shots deal half the extra damage. The Gunslinger is a great class straight through but if you're insistent upon multi-classing do it after 5th level for Guntraining and go either Qik's suggestion for DD or Nacht's for Weapon Specialization. If going fighter choose the weapon master archetype to get +1 attack and damage at level 3.
