Four arms and bows

Rules Questions

1. If I take the Multi-Armed monstrous trait for two extra arms from the APG, can I use two bows?
I would think I could but at the normal multi attack penalties.
2. Would Rapid shot only give one extra attack?

Yes and yes.

Thanks. I thought so but like having a sanity check.

The upshot is that you can also pursue the TWF tree for extra attacks, as well. Unfortunately, however, this is the only effective way to play a multi-bow character. You could do this as soon as UM was released with a Alch 2/Fighter X character to decent effect.

Greetings, fellow travellers.

If you need/want more information, try the Arrow Demon from Monster Manual 3.
Also, there is a thread in the Suggestions/House Rule/Homebrew section.

Ruyan.

Personally I would say yes if you have two heads where one head aims for each. Otherwise I would think one bow would fire blind with the 50% miss chance as only one bow can be aimed at a time.

Same could be said about 2 swords, mechanically aiming a bow requires as much concentration as aiming a sword.

A summoner's eidolon (Biped, with an extra limbs(arms) evolution) could wield two bows at first level. At level 20, it could hold 14 bows with its 28 arms (it would be a glass cannon, having put every last point into arms). If your GM was picky enough to require one head per bow, I think extra heads are free.

I would assume it would be the same as having 2 pistols raised aimed and fired one at a time. Not aiming at the same time.

Alternating Fire would make it simple, the same as you alternate swords in a TWF round.

The ideal (only?) build for the zen archer....
