Kingmaker AP looking for 1 replacement PC (healer)

Recruitment

Hello everyone. I have recently taken over a kingmaker campaign, and am looking for one PC to fill a vacancy. We are going strong, with multiple GM and character posts every day. We are looking to round up the team, so if you are interested please read on.

character creation:
-Level 1
-30 point buy (long story)
-Core Races, Aasimar and Tiefling, ARG races with approval (probably no)
-Core Classes, APG, UC and UM (no Summoner, Ninja, Samurai)
-Max gold and HP at 1st level.
-2 traits, 1 campaign and 1 whatever of your choice.
-Backstory you are arriving late to the party, but I have worked up a way to fill you in. So please just follow the campaign guide as far as to why you have taken the charter to explore the Greenbelt.

about myself:
Long time GM from AD&D 2.0 days till now. I have always GMd more than played throughout my life. It is what I enjoy most out of RPGs. I am a regular player and GM at my local PFS as well. I currently GM an in-person Kingmaker homegame with friends.

In PBP play, I post multiple times per day and like to keep the story/combat moving at a pretty rapid pace. I am in this for the long haul, as I run PBP PFS scenarios semi-regularly and have never quit a game. I try to be fair, and will never (ok rarely) fudge my dice. I like to believe that I have a good grasp of the rules but am flexible to account for RAI over RAW.

what I expect from my players:
1. Have fun
2. Be nice
3. Post (or check the game) at least once a day on weekdays. More optional :)
4. Try to keep the cheese to a level where everyone else is having fun
5. I want you to be in for the long haul APs can take 6-8 months to complete IN PERSON. PBP will take significantly longer.

Current Party:
Sorceress
Rogue
Paladin (Erastil)
Fighter
Witch

Please note - the party is looking for a divine caster or healing character, as that is the character we lost. Clerics, Druids, Life oracles etc... have the best chance to get picked.

--> Note: Download and read the Kingmaker Player's Guide.<-- It's free. When you make a character, keep it as real it can be in a fantasy setting. Half-orcs are often misunderstood and distrusted so it's unlikely you would have a half-orc wizard without an awesome backstory to explain it. Not saying you couldn't have a halfling barbarian or dwarf paladin, but make a believable back story WHY and HOW they became that. You are arriving late to the party, but I have worked up a way to fill you in. So please just follow the campaign guide as far as to why you have taken the charter to explore the Greenbelt.

Recruitment window - based solely on quality of submissions and when the party finishes the current encounter they are in. So get your apps in early. Correct/finished statblocks and good backstories are your key to success. Pro tip, make sure to read my entire post before applying too.

Sounds interesting, although with a 30 point buy and six PCs you're likely going to have to punch up the tempo during the exploration phase to give them a challenge.

This character is a life oracle from Cheliax, a remittance man of sorts, originally played in a 20-point Serpent's Skull campaign that went belly-up when the GM was consumed by RL. With a small bit of jiggering he could fit here; basically, he's being paid by his parents to leave the country so that the family won't have to deal with the embarrassment of a life oracle, and he likes being out in the wilderness a great deal. I would swap out the Boarded in Cheliax trait, obviously, but the only KM trait that seems to fit his background is Brigand. So maybe he's had to lay low in the River Kingdoms for a while, and has spent some time on the wrong side of the tracks. He also has a very large soft spot for the pleasures of civilization, though, so he's made his way up to Brevoy. The charter sounds like just the thing--a chance to wander the forests while building up a place to live in an appropriately decadent style.

One thing: I'm currently GMing a Kingmaker game, which I took over when the original GM disappeared. I can separate player knowledge from character knowledge, though, and will try not to metagame. (Except maybe in a good way, since I (the player) know when to roll with things.)

I am running the 6-player conversion of the game. Additionally the Paladin is my PC from before I had to take over as GM. I try to keep him as an "extra body" and let the true PCs take the spotlight.

Funny story, just yesterday one of the bad guys critted my own paladin with a x3 weapon at lvl 1. I let dice lay as they fall.

I'm using that conversion as well. The issue I've had is that with at most two encounters per day (stationary monster/hazard + random encounter), the PCs can use up the majority of their expendable resources on a single encounter. So six 15-pt characters can hold their own pretty well. OTOH, some of the random encounters can be problematic, and if you have more than one possible in a day the party will have to more effectively manage their resources.

ETA: Ow. And sometimes the dice just don't love you.

Tristan is ready to go into the stolen lands.

Benton Fisk hopes to expand the reach of Brevic into the stolen lands.

Light Crunch:
Half-Elf Oracle (Life)
Curse: Lame - One of your legs is permanently wounded, reducing your base land speed by 10 feet if your base speed is 30 feet or more. If your base speed is less than 30 feet, your speed is reduced by 5 feet. Your speed is never reduced due to encumbrance. At 5th level, you are immune to the fatigued condition (but not exhaustion). At 10th level, your speed is never reduced by armor. At 15th level, you are immune to the exhausted condition.

Ability Scores
Strength : 10 (+0)
Dexterity : 14 (+2)
Constitution : 14 (+2)
Intelligence : 14 (+2)
Wisdom : 14 (+2)
Charisma : 18 (+4)

HP: 11

Traits:
Caretaker: As the child of an herbalist or an assistant in a temple infirmary, you often had to assist in tending to the sick and wounded. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Heal checks, and Heal is always a class skill for you.

Rostlander: You were raised in the south of Brevoy, a land of dense forests and rolling plains, of crystalline rivers and endless sapphire skies. You come from hearty stock and were raised with simple sensibilities of hard work winning well-deserved gains, the importance of charity and compassion, and the value of personal and familial honor. Yours is the country of the Aldori swordlords and the heroes who refused to bend before the armies of a violent conqueror. You care little for matters of politics and nobles or of deception and schemes. As you are thoroughly Brevic, the call for champions willing to expand your land’s influence into the Stolen Lands has inflamed your sense of patriotism and honor, and so you have joined an expedition to quest southward. Your hardy nature grants you a +1 trait bonus on all Fortitude saves.

Light Backstory:
Benton joined the local militia in his twenties, hoping his half-elf heritage would be less of an issue in the militia, and was quickly recruited into the Medical Corps. He served many years there, sustaining a grave leg wound which has never quit causing pain or difficulty walking. Don't worry, no cane. I like House, but not that much ;) He bears it well, and through training and discipline has been able to tap into unknown wells of power which assist him in his healing practices. Hearing the call to expand the influence of his beloved homeland, he seeks other brave souls of like mind and sound character. He's not a supporter of magic, and when questioned he simply states he is "healing", nothing more and nothing less.

Little tidbits:
I can flesh him out quickly if selected, and I post quite frequently every day. Feel free to look at some of my other avatars to see posting quality and frequency. Thanks for the consideration!

I present this little lady for consideration. She was in a campaign once that wasn't Kingmaker... But I know her fairly well.

I think her pic needs to be changed.

Bump.

Are races and classes the only things limited? There is a feat from ISWG I would like to take. Fey foundling.

Brother Donovan is almost finished, traits/feats missing.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path Subscriber

Been hoping to get into a Kingmaker game ever since the one I was in folded when RL took the GM away and the rest of the players didn't want to continue without him.

I'll have a cleric up in the next 24 hrs or so.

Gorax here ... presenting Arvind dwarven cleric of Torag
His background will come along later, might change to cleric of Cayden Cailen or Gorrum depending on how I get along with the background. It a work in progress kinda character at the moment, but liking Cayden Cailen as the deity hmmm..

Yep a beer swilling free spirited dwarf certainly has its appeal, particularly as his presence in Brevoy is part of a drunken bet...

DESCRIPTION:

Age 32 yrs Height 6'2" Weight 200 lbs. Hair Black Eyes Green

Brother Donovan is a well proportioned, well rounded, handsome and fit man. His skin it olive toned, easily tanning. His ethnicity is ambiguous, being some blend of race. His eyes are keen, his smile infectious which works well with his easy going demeanor.

Dedicated to Life, Freedom and Beauty... Brother Donovan has dedicated himself to all the good gods, "the Lords of Light" as he deems them, in particular to Sarenrae. He wishes to esablish a foothold for the deity, in the Greenbelt.

His plan is to establish the greatest temple ever built, with a spire reaching upwards and calling all those in need shelter. The temple would venerating several of the gods of Good (Sarenrae, Desna, Erastil) each with their own room or salon... and one great communal room for the locals allowing a place to worship any non-Evil god. A temple of acceptance.

PROGRESSION

Brother Donovan is a Cleric with the heart of a warrior, his name means "dark warrior". He is a healer (life), a liberator (freedom) and a crafter (beauty). His crafting will include some utility, but will focus when possible on weapons and armor for himself and his fellows.

He can and would serve in the role of Councilor, High Priest, Marshal and/or Treasurer.

Applicant has been picked and contacted. Thanks all.

Did Brother Donovan have a particular failing? Just trying to learn.
