Factotum conversion...

Conversions

I'm looking to do a character inspired by Sage (AKA Tessa) of the X-men, and thought that Factotum would work perfect.

I have not seen a conversion, so here is what I'm thinking....

Aside from the obviouse changes to skills, channeling. etc....

Inspiration pool: Switch from "per encounter" to per day to keep it in line with Arcane pool, Ki pool, etc.... 1/2 class level + Intellegence mod points per day.

Switch some of the abilities you buy with inspiration points from one round to rounds equal to Int mod.

Does that sound workable and balanced ?

Not many fans of the Factotum class huh ???

Grand Lodge

I'm a fan of the Factotum in general, and would love to see a rework of the class for Pathfinder. I'll have to break out the book tonight and take a look, and I'll get back to you tomorrow with my thoughts, but off hand I think that changing the inspiration pool to a daily resource sounds pretty balanced. I think some play testing will be in order shortly.

Liberty's Edge

I may have to get in on this as well. I was a big fan of the Factotum in 3.5. I think it would be a good addition to Pathfinder as well.

We never got the book, though the class is interesting and I, also, would like to see a PF version.

I'd say play it as it is (inspiration points per encounter). It was written by Jason and he has said it is fine to play with Pathfinder.

If you have some money kicking about, check out Kobold Quarterly 18. It has a class called the "Savant" that has the same jack of all trades feel as the factotum.

Grand Lodge

I'll have to check out that issue of Kobold, and if Jason says it's good with Pathfinder that's pretty good for me.

I would leave inspiration as is. It’s really all they get. Almost every class feature they get cost inspiration points.
