I think the prereqs are there to keep it from being like gardening for minions, so I'd say no by RAW though your GM may have different input. What prereqs were you looking to ignore?

The 5 ranks in knowledge nature.


I'm working on a ritual for creating Leshys.
Since knowledge nature is one of the things contributing to the chance of success, I recommend a headband of vast intellect. Otherwise, the thing might attack anything that moves, like a Mandragora.

You cannot increase the DC's in order to skip steps in rituals. You can't even use Aid Another or Take 10/20 [even if you have abilities that would otherwise allow you to do so even when threatened or distracted].


Plus, there is no difference if you have Know:Nature as a class skill, and are trying to grow a Leshy before level 5. Or if you trying to build a Leshy without even having Know:Nature as a class skill at all.

Knowledge Nature is, like, THE skill required to grow a Leshy... the Fungus Leshy and Lotus Leshy are pretty much the only Leshies that allow any substitution of a different skill during the ritual. Every Leshy has the 5 ranks in Know:Nature as a prerequisite, with the Lotus Leshy and Snapdragon Leshy even requiring ranks in other skills. Like Prestige Classes, the prerequisite skill ranks are used to bar entry to certain rituals until a minimum HD has been reached. It's like an age restriction... you are not mature enough to grow free-willed plant people until you have 5 ranks in Know:Nature. Until then, you get to sit at the kids' table and color... you can draw a Leshy if you want, but you can't grow one, yet.
