Monte Cook's Book of Experimental Might in the Realms

Recruitment

Looking to recruit a replacement for an on going pbp.
rules used: check my profile for rules used.
current characters: elven fighter 2, human bard 2, elven druid 2
campaign setting: the campaign is set in the Silver Marches of the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. The pcs are member of the Silver Legion (the army of the confederation of city states making up the Silver Marches).

Please post interest here along with character concept.

Big fan of the realms here, would love to play in this game! Is the cavalier class allowed?

I just checked my profile and realized that the creation rules weren't there. Here they are:

For stats, everyone starts with 17, 15, 14, 13, 12, 10. Assign as you like. Max hp at 1st level. Stats are before racial bonuses.

use regions from Players Guide to Faerun to set starting languages and bonus equipment. Most common regions listed below:

Spoiler:

Human: Silverymoon, The North, The Sword Coast or Uthgardt Tribesfolk
Dwarf: The Spine of the World or the Sword Coast.
Elf: Evereska, The High Forest, or Silverymoon.
Gnome: The Western Heartlands
Half-Elf: as elf or human or Silverymoon(half-elf version).
Halfling: Western Heartlands.
Half-orc: as human or The North(orc version).

You have an additional 1,000gp for equipment.

classes: barbarian, bard (complete book of eldritch might variant), cleric, druid, fighter, monk, ranger, rogue, & wizard.

races: stand PHB plus varients from Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (no underdark races).

Books: PHB3.5, Forgotten Realms's Campaign Setting (for varients of base races minus underdark versions), Player's Guide to Faerun (for regions), & Monte Cook's The Collected Book of Experimental Might.

Rules used:

Spoiler:

Monte Cook's Complete Book of Experimental Might:
Assume that we are using all the rules contained within unless contradicted herein.
Healing (as per rules): grace points return at a rate of 1 grace point per minute. health points return at a rate of 1 health point per day. A person can benefit from magical healing character level plus constitution modifier times per day. Magical healing cures grace points before health points.

Pathfinder:
(1) We are using the combat manuever system which replaces contested checks in the Experimental Might rules. If there is a conflict between the rules, then please ask before hand and I will make a ruling.
(2) We are using the favored class system. Favored class is chosen at first level. when ever you take a level in your favored class you either gain an additional skill point or a bonus hit point (which is allocated as a health point as opposed to a grace point).
(3) We are using the skills system from Pathfinder including skill points and concentration checks. Class skills are the same as their pathfinder counter-part.
(4) The bardic knowledge class feature will be used. Bards gain half their class level as a bonus (minimum +1) to all knowledge checks and all knowledge checks will be considered trained.
(5) All class hit die will be based upon the pathfinder class.

House Rules:
(1) Environmental conditions: There will be one saving throw for extreme heat or cold that would result in subdual damage. If you fail that saving throw, then you will loose all grace points and be fatigued.
(2) Surprise Rounds: due to the nature of pbps I have a general rule that when it is not otherwise obvious that one side is surprised or not, then a perception check vs. a dc 20 will be used to determine if one can act during the surprise round.

Another Realms fan here :-) Character would be a barbarian/ranger (background, could be translated to classes/mechanics), kind of like "The last of the Mohicans", but with less nobility, and more bitterness and anger, due to the loss of his ancestral hunting grounds, and/or even his tribe. Someone who is wandering around North, not searcing for a Cause, but at the same time, secretly hopeing that Cause might find him :-)

I'm not sure if that's what you had in mind regarding character concept, or you need more data?

There's no SRD is there?

Hassan: I don't believe there is an SRD for MC's Complete Book of Experimental Might so the books would be required.

Mihajlo: Sounds nice. Could you go into a little more detail? Race? where is your character from? What tribe/group are you from? How did your character end up serving in the military?

@DM Gray - I've read what could be found on your profile, and I just now understood that this is 3.5E with some added PF. I thought it was the other way around (basic PF + some 3.5 added for the "spice"). I am really sorry for the misunderstanding on my part, I really love your premise/setting, but based on this information I would like to respectfully remove my application from the recruitment process.

No problem Mihajlo. We all need to find a game that is right for us.

Rune: there is no cavalier but you can get pretty much all the same benefits by taking the fighter class and the mounted combat and leadership fighter domains.

Still looking for a new player. Any takers?
