I just read Treantmonk's guide for druids, and especially the Spirit of the Beast part seemed like something I would like to try out soon. What did confuse me, though, and where I found no completely concise answer yet, is how exactly the stats for a shapeshifted druid are calculated. I think I got the basics (keep your STR and DEX score, modified by the beast shape according to target creature size), but some quotes still puzzled me.
Maybe one of you can enlighten me, or at least give me the one link I missed.
Beast Shape III:Forms to consider:
Stegosaurus: A bit slow at 30' but the tail does 4d6 + 1.5 Str for a solid hit (and vital strike or cleave contender).
How did he deduce the 1.5 STR multiplier from the bestiary entry?
Elemental Body IV:Forms to Consider:
Air, Elder: [...] +4 Strength isn't bad, +6 Dex and the NA bonus means AC shouldn't be too bad either.Earth, Elder: The Best Strength bonus you will get with Wildshape (+8) and the (+4) con bonus is welcome as well.
How did he extract those additional stat bonuses and mentioned NA bonuses from the bestiary entry?
And lastly, does the wildshaped druid get the racial skill modifiers of his new form as per bestiary? (Example Dire Tiger: +4 Acrobatics, +4 Stealth (+8 in tall grass) )

wildshape now just uses the polymorph spells Beast Shape I-III, Elemental Body I-IV and Plant Form I-II.
you get the bonuses listed in the spell. Treant is not pulling them from the bestiary they're coming from the elemental body IV spell.
as for the 1.5x str mod there's a core rule that if a creature only a has a single natural attack that attacks is 1.5x mod on damage.
as for skills again no. Wildshape is very different now it just uses the polymorph spells I've listed and the new generic polymorph rules.

The con reference is because one of the elmental bodies gives you a con boost. No animal shape adjusts that.
Natural armor bonus for beast shape is set by size.
You don't get the skills of the creature, except:
Climb:
Swim:
Fly: Should you gain a climb/swim/fly speed, you get a natural bonus when using that skill. Generally it's +8 to climb and swim, fly it depends on the maneuverability.
Stealth (adjustments for size say becoming small, and I personally allow camouflage bonuses to apply).
Your attribute adjustments can indeed affect your skills (mostly strength and dex)(plus your armor check penalty goes away, as your armor meshes with you).
