I am considering taking a 1 level dip or rouge for my PFS wizard.

The main reason is too increase a few of my low skills.

(Str 7 wizard means he has real problems climbing for instance.)

(he did put a rank in Disable Device with his high dex)

The only problem I see is the loss of 1 caster level)

One lost caster level puts you at the same advancement as a sorcerer. If you want the skill boost, go for it.

Oh no honey, rouge just isn't your color.

Oh wait, do you mean Rogue? In that case, I still wouldn't particularly recommend it. If you can't climb, your best bet is dedicating one spell slot to spider climb. It will work much, much more effectively than a rank or two in the skill, where your low Strength will make things very difficult. Or an overland flight, which lasts a very long time and will let you completely skip many climbing challenges. Or polymorph yourself, or summon a monster, or beg the Fighter to carry you, or do any of the other tricks Wizards do to avoid actually climbing a wall.

Unless you are going for Arcane Trickster or something, trying to be like the skill classes won't be easy. It will be simpler to just solve problems you encounter as a Wizard, rather than trying to emulate how a Rogue would solve them.

Terribad idea.

Spells beat skills. Just have someone else do the climbing and toss you down a rope. Then do the rope-assisted climb, or have them pull you up.

Look into Animate Rope, Reduce Person, Spider Climb, and Alter Self (IIRC). And that's just for climbing.

You are a Wizard - you have many skill points due to high INT. Taking a level of Rogue for more skill points substantially weakens your character - a casting level is a big thing! You may have to make painful skill choices if you want to mitigate your pathetic STR, but it's worth doing that rather than taking one level of Rogue. Now, if you're doing it for roleplay reasons, great, but it doesn't sound like that's the case here.

The problem you're having is one of the reasons I would never dump STR on an adventurer. It's too useful when you need it, and when you need it your life is in danger (Climb, Swim, Grappling). Sure, you can bypass some/all of these issues with spells (eventually), but you have to live that long first.

I tried to multiclass a wizard with 2 levels of ranger. It was a disaster. Killed the wizard's effectiveness. Better off having a bull's strength option available when you need to climb or lift. Or cast your way out of it- levitate, floating disk, rope trick. Scrolls are a lightweight way to go, there.

How much climbing are you doing for considering this??

I'd advise against it, you can still spend skill points to get higher climb if you want to: that said, there is plenty of spells that works better than a few ranks in climb. A level of wizard will help you and your party than a level of rogue.

You could even think of a magic item to help with climbing (I think there are some climbing claws in the jade regent AP) or a wand with a spell that helps with climbing.

Scrolls are what you want for skills.

Instead of stealth keep a scroll of invisibility on hand

Having trouble climbing? Use spiderclimb.

Linguistics? Scroll of comprehend languages.
