WOW! Are you as tired as I am? What a fantastic time I had watching all of us pledge (and ponder our pledge), chat up a storm, and cheer on something we wanted to grow. I'm thrilled to have been a part of it and would love to hear from each of you, what pledge you went with and what swag really caught your eye, fun moments, what you're looking forward to,etc.
As for me, I was able to go with the 1K mark only after some SERIOUS thought on why I would do it and IF I could afford it. The thought of having a chance to Alpha test it was just too much to avoid. BUT! I didn't start at that level. There was so many things that moved me from open pledge to final. Seeing all the cool offers at the first level up, no matter what you pledged, there was something for everyone.
Having said all that, this also gave me a chance to meet new friends and ones I hope to meet over and over again!
Now for a bit of sleep and hoping I don't dream of Goblinworks Plushies.
Bless and Keep!

Well done Saint Mac! I kicked myself up to $500 because I felt strongly about the potential that may come from this! I look forward to what may come from Goblinworks and only have positive intentions about the future!
Enjoy the Alpha and make sure it does us proud!

Bart

I have to have money to take the kids to the fair and for some reason the zoo and other kids memberships all come due at the end of June. I am totally serious about getting paizo to make some goblin dice. I am all about goblins right now. Except I watched the movie legend last night, so no lame goblins like that movie.

Wow! Thanks Bart! I'm with you, it was something that has legs and a future.
I'm faaarrrr from being a good online gamer, but hopefully being a programmer, a closet-case modder, and more importantly a fan of Pathfinder (and Kingmaker AP) I will bring something to the table.
Enjoy that leather bag and keep in touch!

I went w/ the $250...$500 was calling out to me but I opted to hang at $250. Just constantly refreshing and watching the ticker increase was awesome. I can't wait to see what gets developed!
I tell ya, just the thought of having a signed copy from such talented people was worth your pledge and some!
Wasn't that crazy? I was like a freakin crackbaby hitting refreash...all day (during last day) I was checking my phone at work.
Great times!

I decided that donating $500 is too mainstream. So i went with $501. Just because I could, lol. Wonder if i could give them $500 later and get into the Aplha still, hmmm.
LOL! 501..Because d*mn it, that's just how you role!
I wondered about that too. If I remember right, there were 20 out of 50 spots.
Never hurts to ask! Either way though, you have a rockin' bag coming your way right?!

Same here...was hanging out last night watching the $$$, then was on my phone all day checking the total...didn't get much done at work but had fun watching the money and support pour in.

We were so addicted to checking up on the Kickstarter campaign we set it as the homepage on many of our machines, haha.

Well, I could only do 50$, but I'm glad to support the game. Great that you guys can all afford to donate so much extra :)
$50 pledge rocks!!! HELLLOOOOO Printed Thornkeep!
I'm rarely in this type of position, so this was my once in lifetime thing. Just happened that I had the funds (using a long term pay-off card scheme).

Dang man I wasn't sure what that thing was. Sounds sweet. How long I reality does it take to make a game like this? A year and a half? Two years?
It really depends, if they are writing the engine from scratch, that will take the longest to create. If they are using someone else's engine to create the demo then not as long.

I already had the kickstarter page pulled up looking up the $500 pledge info so it was a matter of just copying and pasting the info :P

I had a great time watching the money roll in... Especially nice to hang out with some gamers, especially when my family went to sleep. i could only do $50, but it still felt like a shared victory.
aka Kay B.
$5 or $5000, every little bit put us to the over $300k that we got to today :)

What is the description of the coins? I must have missed the specifics on what you get for your pledge. Was it in one of the updates?
I really wish they did have more info on the challenge coin they are supposed to have minted, mabe a rough concept drawing or something like that to see what it looks like.

Would you like to hear my SERIOUSLY unprofessional oppinion? Note that Mr. Dancey mentions middle-ware. That's your economy, weather effects, etc. THAT is the key. The more middle-ware you can pull off the shelf the faster the turn around. Depending on how much you wrap all that up and how well you blend it, is the question.
If the Beta testers are about Oct (per pledge desc) and Alpha in Jan(again per desc) that hints. Then think PR pump time, after PaizoCon after GenCon if outing it before a Jan 2014.
Now, NOT knowing Ryan's plan, he could go for a post-PaizoCon-straight-download-release-as-you-go and pop something out earlier. Ryan's ambitious, so I wouldn't put it past him or Goblinworks to pull a rabbit out the hole.
AGAIN, just my guess. If it were Blizzard, I would say 2 1/2 if preplanned. THIS is something very different. And I'm happy about that.
Cheers!

They will have a tech demo to show to potential investors in october roughly, give or take a month. They will have people working on getting those investors ponying up cash while working on the game. Now SWToR cost roughly 200 million to make with a middleware engine. I don't expect this game to cost anywhere near that amount but will still cost a pretty penny and time, at least 2 years of development i would say. If alpha starts in January of 2013, then beta would depending on development start somewhere in the range of middle or near the end of 2013.
