Why does the Accelerated Drinker Trait only apply to potions?

What was the reasoning behind limiting the Accelerated drinker trait to potions?

I understand that the trait does not apply to the Mutagens and extracts of an Alchemist.

But to me this does not make logical sense. Both potions and Extracts are liquids contained in vials and bottles....if you will, both magical spells in liquid form.

So I wonder what was the reasoning behind this. Thanks. ( I am hoping for replies that are a little more thoughtful and insightful then " its RAW thats what's written". )

Thanks

Didn't accelerated drinker come out before the alchemist class?

Because the beer bong is a relatively modern invention.

Potions only. This has been commented on by developers.

Game balance. Don't think about it too hard.

Probably because extracts, unlike potions are viewed as an analogue of spellcasting. And Paizo's very chary on what they allow to accelerate spellcasting.

No no, I'm sure a trait to make almost all spells a wizard casts a move action would be balanced.

Answer is right here.

Thanks Black blood Troll for the link.

Big Norse Wolf and LazerX Thank you. Game balance, and Paizo being leery about anything that allows the acceleration of spell casting does make sense.
