As I understand it per rules I could combine those archetypes.
But the infiltrator states: He chooses one type of creature he has selected as a favored enemy.

So if I have no favored enemy I get no adaptation?

Indeed, for you must have a favored enemy or else it doesn't have a creature for you to adapt into.
