Evasion and improved evasion

I don't know if this has been answered already but can you only get improved evasion if you are a 10th level rogue? I see nothing that confirms nor denies getting evasion twice gives you improved evasion. I am looking at going from rogue to shadow dancer but would still like to get improved evasion. Is it possible?

It seems that evasion do not stack with evasion granted by another source for improved evasion. As a rogue/shadowdancer you should have decent Reflex bonus so try to make all the saves.

Can a half elf use weapons with elven in the name as martial weapons like their full blood relatives? It states in the core book that they get the benefits and disadvantages of both the human and elven races. Does this include weapons like the elven curve blade?

No. Eleven blood makes the half-elf react as elf and human to all effects that have specific effect against elves and humans. Ability to treat elven weapon as martial instead of exotic is elf racial trait that is not possessed by half-elf not effect of the weapon itself. Compare it to paralysis ability possessed by ghouls instead that specifically do not affect elves or elf bane weapon that specifically affect elves.

nope

that is a specific racial trait, half elves dont gain it. you can trade the skill focus for a weapon prof (alternate racial trait from APG)

Shadowdancer itself gets improved evasion actually, assuming you're willing to go all the way up to Shadowdancer 10 that is. Even if you don't want to go to Shadowdancer 10 though, you can still get improved evasion as your 10th level advanced rogue talent. You'll only really start running into problems if you try to multiclass significantly into additional classes beyond those two.

In short, yes you can get improved evasion, either from your 10th level of Shadowdancer or from an advanced rogue talent that you choose at your 10th level (or higher) of Rogue.

If you were thinking that two different classes providing evasion could stack to grant you an early improved evasion, my impression is no. Uncanny dodge specifically says it stacks when multiple classes grant it. The fact that evasion doesn't say the same suggests that it follows the default rule of "X doesn't stack unless it's explicitly written that it does".
