The kobolds are doing the monster dance, and everyone is invited!
This contest is a straight-up monster design gig, which has been won by such gaming luminaries as Adam Daigle and others. You've got 800 words to write a cool new monster!
The winner will be published in a future issue of Kobold Quarterly.
The judges this time out include Ben McFarland (Streets of Zobeck), Adam Roy (Journeys to the West), and Sigfried Trent (Complete Advanced Feats). They'll choose 5 nominees, and the gaming public picks the winner!
Deadline? Friday, May 18, noon Pacific.
Details? King of the Monsters

It's true, once you don the raiment of a Kobold King of the Monsters, you are ineligible for the next contest.
However, I'll point out that 50% of all prior Kings of the Monsters have been hired by Paizo, so... That ain't bad.
Wait, where's that in the rules? Does that apply to me as winner of the Tin Crown, too? It's fine if that's the case, I just can't see where it says that...

My error: The prior King of the Monsters is usually asked in as a judge and thus ineligible.
Tin Crown is different, and I got my wires crossed. Boxhead, you are eligible to seize a second-and-completely-different crown!
(Note to self: Next contest offers a sceptre or wand or something. Too many crowns!)

Phew, and it is ON!

An, perfect! Thanks or clearing that up, Wolfgang.
It most certainly is ON, Darkjoy!

Wolfgang Baur wrote:(Note to self: Next contest offers a sceptre or wand or something. Too many crowns!)But kobolds have a tradition of a ridiculous number of kings, we *have* to stick to crowns! :D

I don't recall if the OD kobolds use slurks. If so, how about the Royal Slurk Saddle?

The OD kobolds are more prone to dire weasels if they are available (see beautiful dire weasel rodeo art), but I am certain any kobold would be happy to ride a slurk if one is available.
The Royal Slurk Saddle has a very kobold-y ring to it. I like it.
