there was a guideline in 3.5. it was 11 or 13 ft for large IIRC
I thought I remembered something similar. I tried to consult the Bestiary, but wasn't having much luck. The tiniest large monster I could find was 8' and 500 lbs. The biggest a medium sized half-orc gets is 6'10" and 318 lbs.
Does weight also play a factor into this equation? A medium sized female dwarf has a minimum height of 3'9" and 134 lbs. A small sized male gnome has a maximum height of 3'8" and weight of 43 lbs. Only a 1" height difference and 91 lb. weight difference.

Any chart or rule that explains at what height/length a creature transistions from one category to another? Specifically wondering at what point the transition occurs from small to medium and medium to large.
Nothing in Pathfinder that I have seen. In addition to the link provided above by Jeraa the 3.5 chart can be found in the PHB p. 149 (with a nice picture on 150), the DMG on p. 29, and the MM on p. 314.

You can also see some comparative graphics and related relevant Pathfinder rules information here.
Unfortunately, the graphics related to said chart are incorrect for huge creatures. Any chance they can be corrected?
Edit: As well as provide a source for that portion of the material that doesn't come from the PRD, and provide annotation regarding the controversy regarding the reach distance for medium creatures and long large creatures as it relates to corners?
