Uh...it's certainly no more of a problem than being a melee character as a Dwarf, and those do fine. As a pistol-user, you're perpetually gonna be up in peoples' faces anyway, so low movement just isn't that big a deal.
If it really worries you, work towards the Deft Shootist feat to be able to play just like a melee character.

if you can, go with the heavy armor version of the gunslinger?
This is a good point. Gun Tank is pretty good, and Pistolero is awesome. They stack. If you're allowed to take archetypes, and like using pistols, take at least Pistolero.
If you want to switch to muskets, you might wish to take Musket Master instead of Pistolero, but you have to pick between it and Gun Tank, since they both replace Gunslinger's Dodge.

And/or you could dip into some class that lets you move faster with just one level.
Barbarian: Good for dwarfes but I don't know if you can shoot while raging
Oracle: Two of the mysteries have revelations that increase base move by 10ft
Cleric/inquisitor: The travel domain increases movement by 10ft.
Apart from the barb you'll lose a point of bab.
I personally like the eagle domain for ranged builds. But with just a level 1 dip it will not be too strong.

Glad you get the chance to play a Dwarf of an unusual variety. You'll amaze yourself with the potentials [never forget Steel Soul feat (from APG,) it's a killer (or a saver, I guess, heh-heh.)]
I really like the idea of the Gun Tank/Pistolero Stunty destroyer.
Alchemical cartridges will be cool with this character--think classic tinkering Dwarf that loves to blow things up!
Enjoy, Kaedian!

One may carry things in a hand equipped with a Light Shield, thusly, may use spell components, reload a weapon, all that jazz, one is only restricted from wielding a weapon with said hand.
How else would a Dwarf carry a flask at the ready?!?
lmao. I always carry a handkeg of dwarven ale myself

Does wielding a shield count towards leaving a hand free for reloading purposes?
My AC shot up 3 points this is awesome
A heavy shield will definitely interfere with reloading. A light shield might or might not, but there's no need to worry about that because a buckler will definitively not (it's even mentioned in the firerarm rules).
The rules are a bit unclear as to whether you'd gain the shield bonus from the buckler in any turn you reload, so you'd best ask your GM which way he'd rule it.
Still, either way, the armor's pretty good. :)

I agree with Deadman. ESPECIALLY with a Dwarf, who isn't slowed down by armor whatsoever.

The Quickdraw feat allows you to draw or put away a quickdraw shield as a free action. If you get the feat (which just by it's name is cool for a gunslinger) you can use a light shield instead of a buckler and get your shield bonus except if someone readies an action to attack you when you are loading.

I added Gun tank and pistolero. I went medium armor + buckler and got my AC to 20 which is a 2 point improvement. The touch AC went down by one though. Overall I like the character a lot better now I was too focused on the slower movement rate to see the other great benefits that he has.
Thanks again for all the great advice you guys rock
