Building a 1-hit wonder

Advice

So I've made a rogue in full plate for a PF game. Yup.

Currently he's fighter (unbreakable) 1 Rogue 3, and fights using feint and a falchionn.

My goal for this character is to eventually (using vital strike, etc) make the biggest, most ridiculous single hit I possibly can.

Any advice on feat progression/etc? I'm not looking to make a DPR god with this, just have some fun with a...different idea.

The barbarian archtype that lets you use larger weapons.
Use the large sized tetsubo.
Enlarge person cast on you.
Take improved crit with the weapon properties that give more damage dice not just a plus on damage.

I'm forgetting some things...

You looking for feats/options that work within your build? Or just options that can boost a standard-action-attacking character?

Kirin Style + Vital Strike + Power Attack + Sneak attack is a good platform for starters.

Ok, guess I got to ask another question.

Highest damage on a crit, sneak, or normal attack?

Scarab Sages

Use the Scout archetype for the rogue. Automatic Sneak Attack damage on a successful charge at level 4, then automatic Sneak Attack damage after 10' of movement at level 8. Best way to reliably get Sneak Attack damage that I know of.

If you want the single biggest hit you can get, you need a Druid or Magus.

Druid, you'd use Imp. Natural Attack and Strongjaw on yourself or animal companion. In either case, you want T-Rex, or barring that, Allosaurus. You want as many of the Vital Strike feats as possible...probably want to multiclass to a full BAB class once you have those other basics covered. You naturally also want Power Attack and maybe Furious Focus. Don't forget Enlarge Person if doing it yourself; IIRC you retain Humanoid type while polymorphed. If you don't...use Animal Growth, as you would for the companion.

Magus...just basic Magus Optimization. Go crit fishing with a keen / Imp. Crit Scimitar or Rapier, use metamagics or your 1/day arcana metamagic effects to Intensify, Empower, etc... your spell. Pretty straightforward. Using the arcana for Bane on your weapon helps.

EDIT: Of course, if you're willing to deal with the annoyances of the rules restrictions on when and where you can charge, a lance charge mounted build will be the top single hit DPR, hands-down.

Looking more for this build. I need the armored rogue as I'm doubling as skill monkey and tank. The 1 giant attack is just for me having fun.

Let's go for attack + SA.

Silver Crusade

The best for this one is by wielding a large Bastard sword in two hands with the weapon proficiency feat, being enlarged, casting lead blade on yourself with oracle levels, and vital strike/devastating strike.
Base 4d8 when enlarged and with lead blade, potentially 16d8+6 base damage on a sigle hit, 20d8+12 on a critical hit.

You want Sap Adept and Sap Master. Your attack will be nonlethal. Getting IUS and adding Knockout Artist to that helps, also. You'll want Shattering Strike to reliably make people flatfooted, and probably the Enforcer feat to generate the shaken condition w/o relenting on your attacks.

SA cannot be multiplied by crits or brace or anything, so max damage on a single blow will be limited. SA is best to add to lots of attacks by its nature.

Maxx pretty much took my other ideas. I'm wracking my brain to think of static bonuses to add, but most of those are spells or spell-like abilities.

Furious Focus (apg) negates the attack penalty from your first Power Attack attack IF using a two handed weapon (or 1handed weapon in 2hands). For a one attack/round THF build it is a must. - Gauss

I don't think polymorph effects stack. Also, I believe Wildshape is a polymorph effect.

EDIT: "You can only be affected by one polymorph spell at a time. If a new polymorph spell is cast on you (or you activate a polymorph effect, such as wild shape), you can decide whether or not to allow it to affect you, taking the place of the old spell. In addition, other spells that change your size have no effect on you while you are under the effects of a polymorph spell."

Ah. It's not a polymorph effect, but that last sentence nixes it.

Doesn't help the OP, anyway.

some background so far. Using a human Rogue 4/Fighter 1

18 str

12 dex

14 con

9 wis

13 int

12 cha

Used the survivalist rogue and unbreakable fighter

Feats: Power Attack, Furious Focus, Endurance, Die Hard, Combat Expertise, Improved Feint, Skill focus (bluff)

Currently I have +13 to bluff (max ranks + focus + a trait bonus), so virtually everything gets feinted if I need to

Hitting for 2d4 + 2d6 + 13 (+1 falchion and power attack). avg 25 a hit.

Level six will add a sneak attack dice (rogue 5), level 7 (fighter 2) will add vital strike and devastating strike for:

4d4 + 3d6 + 15 avg 35 a hit.

I'm open to other plans as well.
