So, do I get this right, it it only useful for a cleric from a LG, CG, LE or CE deity? Absolutely useless for a cleric of a LN deity then, at least how I see it, or has there been a rules clarification? Thanks for any help.

It is useless to clerics of LN and CN without GM allowing expanding/adjusting summon monster lists. NE and NG deities have exactly one matching summon each (Salamander for evil and Astral Deva for good) making the feat of very little use to their clerics as well.

The GM does not need to 'allow' an expansion of the summon monster lists. The Bestiary 2 did it already. If the GM desires he can overrule that of course.

The Bestiary 2 page 292-293 under Entropic and Resolute templates adds those templates as options to summon monster and planar ally.

As a result Sacred Summons is useful to clerics of LN and CN alignments. - Gauss

P.S. That is assuming they change the wording such that templates qualify as alignment subtypes. Eg. change the Celestial to have the good subtype. Personally, I think it is a gimme but that is just my belief not RAW.

By RAW celestial, fiendish, resolute and entropic templates do not grant alignment subtype and thus are irrelevant for the purpose of Sacred Summons unless houseruled otherwise.

Right, which I stated in my P.S. - Gauss

Don't state something as fact then if you need to qualify it as your own belief.

I was tired when I posted that and I wasn't as clear as I shouldve been. My apologies.

1) Bestiary 2 added Entropic and Resolute templates to the summon monster and planar ally spells. This is the part I was saying didnt need DM approval (although the DM could overrule it).

2) Sacred Summons as writ cannot take advantage of templates. Hopefully that will be changed.

Just goes to show you that when posting things while tired right before bed they may not come out as you intended. - Gauss

I fear the feat is of even less use to neutral evil clerics than that. The summon monster chart within the CRB/PRD lists the Salamander as having the evil subtype, but its Bestiary entry does not give it an alignment subtype, only the extraplanar and fire subtypes.

If I'm interpreting this incorrectly, let me know. Otherwise, how do I flag this for a future errata?
