There's two solo adventures from Open Design that will work perfectly with Beginner Box characters (and have compatible stats for a dwarf fighter and human ranger). There's some combat, some roleplay, and some decisions to make.
Kalgor Bloodhammer and the Ghouls Through the Breach
Elgar Fletch and the Dark Army

I am looking for Beginner Box adventures suitably for kids similar to the movie The Labyrinth. Or Alice in Wonderland. Something not too scary with more puzzles and role-playing than combat. A little combat is OK.
Have your kids watched The Labyrinth? If they haven't you could GM your own game using notes from the movie. It could be really fun.

Yes, they've seen it about 50 times. It's their favorite movie. That and Neverending Story, How To Train Your Dragon, Shrek, The Princess Bride, and The Wizard of Oz. Favorite book is Alice in Wonderland. That and they've watched Dungeons & Dragons cartoon on DVD.
Just to give an idea of what I'm looking for.

You're giving me some great ideas for my own family game! You know, the original novel The Sword of Shannara could provide some great ideas.
And, have you considered the very humorous AD&D dungeon module WG-7 Castle Greyhawk? It's out of print, but can be bought from eBay for $10-15. It would be a great source of material. The cover looks like this, in case you've never seen it: Castle Greyhawk
