Advice

I have a question, I am involved in a battle royal, every man for themself. I am looking for good ideas for my character the rules i can think of are listed below.

- Start at level 10
- Only core races
- No magical items
- All classes and archetypes available from Core, UC, UM, APG
- 25 point buy for stats
- Start with 5000 gold

This takes place in a giant arena with random obstacles such as acid pits and some places for cover with a 200 foot ceiling.

Liberty's Edge

No magic items?

Elven witch, dream speaker racial trait. Flight hex, invisibility (patron spell if you have to), three fold aspect, slumber hex, accursed hex, ability focus (slumber hex), and something deadly to coup de grace with.

Go for a maneuver Monk and avoid everyone until there is only one other person left, then chuck them in an acid pool. Max out Dexterity and Wisdom and use Agile Maneuvers and Weapon Finesse to increase your chances to hit. You'll be OK with as good an AC as anyone and the best saves make you hard to hurt.

Since you can't have any magic items, I recommend spending some of your cash on Elephants At only 1000gp each, they are a complete steal.

If it's only you that can't have magic items, then take a leadership feat and trick your cohort out and let them battle on your behalf.

Hireling, trained: 3 sp/day each.
Leadership for a handful more.
Play a bard...with haste.

That's a lot of crossbow bolts every round.

If is a battle royal i higly doubt he is allowed to bring in hireling or any other help. By the level 10, i'd say that probably the most self-sufficient class without magic item is going to be a sorcer with DD and Overland Fly (cast it twice for 20h coverage) on top of varius invisibilities. Pack some magic missiles and schorcing ray for the eventual last kill. And since there is no magic allowed, Protection from arrows is gold. Finish up with some Mirror Image and some protection against the most common spells spells (protection/resist from energy). Human is an obvius choice, but given the level, elf may be very good for the immunity to magical sleep, really whortwhile against Deep Slumber or any witches around. The loss of the racial preferite class option hurts, but talents are not that important in this frangents.

Combining the previous suggestions nets you FLYING ELEPHANTS. I heartily support this notion.

I would ban casters. It is not fare for them to have access to magic when nobody else does.

But casters are also squishy.

Only if you can get to them and hit them. Any caster that has not learned how to stay away from people with pointy objects deserves what he gets though.

As for the nonsquisy(those that don't have low BAB) casters they can also cause problems.

In the end though it is up to the GM, and I would not mind participating if this is a PbP game.
