Blink and Flanking

Let's say I am being flanked by 2 creatures, each of which is using the "Blink" spell.

When they try to attack me, they must first resolve the 20% chance that they will/won't be able to strike me, so If one or both fails on that 20% chance, am I still considered "flanked" since 1 is ethereal at that time? I guess it comes down to if they are still considered "threatening me" if they have no way to hit me for that round.

thanks for your help!

Flanking: "When making a melee attack, you get a +2 flanking bonus if your opponent is threatened by another enemy character or creature on its opposite border or opposite corner."

Threatened Squares: "You threaten all squares into which you can make a melee attack, even when it is not your turn."

If they are attacking into your square, they threaten that square. If something is threatening from the opposite border, the attacker gets a flanking bonus.

The 20% miss chance for a blinking attacker is per attack, not per round. Even if they roll badly and miss each of their attacks, they are still capable of attacking into your square, and if you provoke an AoO, they could still take one.

thanks Grick, that seems reasonable.
I am going to be sending some barghests at my party, and wanted to be sure in case one of my PCs trys to weasel out of being flanked.

If your player tries to argue it just explain to them that the flanking bonus represents the flanked characters need to focus his/her attention on more than one opponent who may or may not attack him/her.
