Bards, performance and concentration

Rules Questions

I know Bards are not new, but I've never played on nor had a player play one till now.

If a Bard uses a power (ghost image) that has no time limit, it is concentration based, can he effectively keep it going all day?

Would this require a quick action each round to confirm concentration (when it applies)?

Can he maintain concentration and still cast or perform? I'd think not, but maybe...

Just looking to understand how this works.

As I recall, maintaining concentration on a spell that requires it is a standard action each round. So as long as he never needed to use another standard action (or full-round action), he could keep it going all day.

Confirmed, I found this: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/combat.html

I think you mean Silent Image, not Ghost Sound. But yes, as long as he concentrates (spends a standard action each round), it stays up.

In addition, if he had started a bardic performance earlier (or at higher levels, used a move or swift to start the performance while concentrating or casting the spell), he can continue to maintain the performance as that is a free action.

if you have the feat Spellsong you can spend BP rounds to keep a concentration spell going while doing other things
