Rage Power for a 7-year-old

Advice

Hiya All.

I'm running a (very very fun) game for a pair of kids (7 & 10) that I tutor (we do real work, too, but playing Pathfinder has become a favorite "reward" activity of theirs). The younger of the two is playing a barbarian ("Gabriel the Crusher"), and playing him as one should (step 1: hit things hard; step 2: repeat). He's loving it.

Anyway, we're about to hit level 2, and I'd like to make a short-list of possible Rage Powers for him to choose. I'm not too familiar with the class, and a quick glance didn't reveal many obvious winners for said goal of hitting stuff hard, so I'd appreciate any advice you'd be willing to throw my way. Keep in mind: this is a 7-year-old who is new to Pathfinder (perhaps obviously), so keeping it simple and straight-forward is ideal (although I'm able to help him out with recommendations and such if need be).

Many thanks!

superstitious. it eventually leads to spell sunder.

Since this is for a fun, rather than powergamey sort of endeavor, I hereby recommend this:

Quote:

Hurling, Lesser (Ex)

Benefit: As a full-round action while raging, the barbarian can lift and hurl an object up to one size category smaller than herself with both hands or two size categories smaller with one hand as an improvised weapon with a range increment of 10 feet. This inflicts damage as a falling object plus the barbarian’s Strength bonus. This damage is halved if the object is not made of stone, metal, or similar material. This is a ranged touch attack, and the target may attempt a Reflex save (DC 10 + 1/2 the barbarian’s level + the barbarian’s Strength modifier) for half damage. The barbarian may apply Power Attack to this attack as a one- or two-handed weapon, as appropriate.

What's more fun than grabbing the dining room table and throwing it at people? Grabbing the handy anvil from the nearby blacksmiths forge and throwing it at people!

Should hopefully be followed by:

Quote:

Hurling, Greater (Ex)

Prerequisite: Barbarian 12, hurling rage power

Benefit: As hurling, but the barbarian can increase the range increment to 30 feet or increase the size of a hurled object by two size categories.

I'd even lower the level req to barbarian 6 or so. he's a kid, its not going to break anything. Then he can pick up the nearby blacksmith (the building, not the person) and throw it at people!

Silver Crusade

Reckless Abandon is good if he wants to hit more often and isn't worried about AC. Or Lesser Beast Totem lets him grow claws and hit with two claw attacks per round instead of a weapon.

I think most of the best rage powers are in Advanced Players Guide, so maybe skim those and see what else catches your eye.

does he have charisma at all? Spirit totem I say, he gets to hit things twice, make the spirits appear to be his favorite thing, like dinosaurs or turtles or something.

Sovereign Court

I'm putting my vote in for Hurler (maybe give him some throwing axes to play around with too), but failing that, the beast totem line might appeal to the animal in him.

Thanks for all the help, people. It's appreciated.

I had actually mentioned hurler to him myself - they have a halfling cleric NPC with them, a surly, cigar-smoking fellow named Willis, and they loved the thought of him picking up Willis and chucking him into the fray.

Otherwise, Reckless Abandon seems like a solid option. Spirit Totem had also caught my eye, but his Cha is 8, so I'd mostly ruled that out.

Again, thanks for helping me find a starting point!
