The only thing about getting armor - Don't worry about it until it's worthwhile. A wand of Mage armor is only 750 GP for 50 charges (plenty of uses there) and that spell will last you until lv. 9. That being said, a 15 gp investment in hide armor is still ok, just for when you can't use Mage armor (need to recharge the wand or whatever) but having a +4 armor bonus on top of your wisdom modifier is really nice.

You know, the more I think about it, Don't even bother with armor. Instead of spending the 18k (and a feat!) on a piece of wild stone plate, instead spend 16k on a headband of wisdom +4. If your lv.4 or 8 bonus ability score point is put into wisdom, you'll have an 18, the headband make 22 (+6 mod) In conjunction with that mage armor, you're looking at +10 AC, exactly the same as the wild stone plate, but with no encumbrance, ACP, feat expenditure, etc. AND you get a +2 to your stun DC, a number of skills, will saves, and the AC bonus applies to ALL types of AC (Touch, FF, you name it!)

ok

@gallahad why spell focus at 1st lvl?

also shouldn't I have a 10 cha or have a lvl in druid first so I can control my pet?

Is human or dwarf better for my concept?

Spell focus only because it's a pre-req for Augment summoning, and doesn't require you to actually have the ability to cast spells.

I don't understand about the pet control question...You wouldn't get your pet until lv.5, by which time you can have several ranks in handle animal, if that's what you mean.

The dwarf concept was more for the survivability aspect of having high Wis and Con, with bonuses to saves. Human works very well for ANY build.

Ok I guess about the pet but I was thinking because my handle animal will be low for a long time

You can always put ranks in handle animal, but it usually won't matter until you have an animal to handle. Worst case scenario, you could always pick up skill focus. Not that I recommend that, but it's an option if it becomes necessary.

Should I go druid first or monk first for skill selections?

imho - I wouldnt cross class at all with druid. They really come into their own at 4th level and the trade off's wont be worth the set back in spell ability. Druids get a very nice spell list but the progression to higher tiered spells is slow and level dipping just makes it that much slower.

I dont understand why if you want to play a druid youd consider starting off as anything but a druid.

A vote for two things, 1 is should I take a lvl. of MoMF and 2 should I have the animal domain?

bumb.

any other sugestions not previously posted?

bumb

MoMF was not that great in 3.5. Since Pathfinder's polymorph rules have changed it might be better in PF. I would ask the GM about it first. Some things from 3.5 don't translate over to PF well.

I would not take levels in monk. I can't seem to find the post, but why was that suggestion made. I just want to be sure I am telling you to not take the level in monk for the right reasons.

I vote that you make your druid and start playing him. Then see what works for you. All the rest of this is just our opinions. If there's something you dont like then talk to your GM. I've found every GM I've played with has been open to IC changes especially at level up time.

@wraithstrike for the feat dragonstyle so I can charge over rough terrain.

I'd start out as a druid, just spend the extra 15 gp for hide armor. I'd still buy a wand of mage armor for use when wild shaped, whether or not you go monk. Personally, I'm a big fan of the Feather subdomain, as that + 1/2 level to perception is really sweet, and you get access to a full animal companion for the cost of 1 feat. This way, you'll also be guaranteed to have feather fall, fly and mass fly prepped, ALL of which are really useful spells. You'll also get another summon nature's ally 4, which is a great spell (the summon nature's ally spells are your bread and butter).

@ wraithstrike
The monk level was a pretty significant bump in AC for wild shape, not to mention having the ability to also bump AC with Mage Armor. Also, the dragon style, like Theos said. Plus there's some other nice benefits for meing monk 1 (+2 to all saves, stunning fist, IUS, etc.)

So I have not played druids in a long time and want to play one if people could give me ideas on builds and feats for the builds that would be great

I have found that a Animal companion sometimes isn't the best option for a druid, so I traded out my Animal Companion for an Air or Water domain, It gave me an extra spell slot for those spells and I took Natural Spell to use my spells in Wild Shape. Precise Shot is a must for any that want to have ranged damage (albeit: Spells or Ranged Attacks. I am Playing in the Kingmaker AP and we have suffered two TPK (Total party Kills) an Almost Total party kill, and now as a Druid I found to be a very versatile class.

Scarab Sages

I don't know if the OP still needs help two years later. Animal Companions are a far more powerful option than domains. They give you great action economy, can help smuggle items past checkpoints, and so on. That said, Domains can be a good choice for concept or if you are playing an archetype that lets you spontaneously cast domain spells.
