Help me build a Priest with Flurry of blows ability like a Monk?

Hello every one.

I'm stuck on this one. I am task to if see you guys can help me with in creating a character. This character is a 6 levels priest atm. How can I intergrade with monk ability in Improved unarmed striking along with Furry blows, can this be done for sure a character? How would you do it in creating this character?

I'd probably go with playing a Vanara. They're about the furriest critters I can think of with a bonus in Wisdom.

You can get the monk class features easily enough by dipping in monk, but they're not going to scale with your cleric levels. If you want a cleric that has full monk progression as well, you're probably going to have to raise the idea of playing a gestalt character with your GM.

I'm assuming by 6 levels of priest you mean cleric. Clerics can't use flurry unless you have at least one level of monk. Flurry of blows is a monk only class ability. There's just no way to get it without level dipping. And that would give you the improved unarmed strike feat, too.

Lol. It took me a second to figure out what you'd' done here. Nice.

Twilsemail has it about right. Multi-classing monk and cleric is the easiest way to go.

I guess I'd also ask what you mean by "priest"? If you specifically mean divine caster, then twilsemail is right. If you just mean a religiously-minded character, you can just go straight monk and make sure you have Knowledge: Religion maxed.

If you have the option, take the Plant domain - the Wooden Fists ability will keep your damage scaling as well as a Monk's (just not your to-hit).

The Two-Weapon Fighting feat tree combined with (Spiked) Gauntlets is probably the simplest way of approximating the Flurry of Blows ability.

Monk 1/ Cleric X.

Your flurry, once you have the ability, is based on your Base attack bonus. Your monks levels count as your BAB for the purposes of flurry.

So, if you're a monk 1 (BAB +0)/ Cleric 3 (BAB +2) You flurry at +1/+1

The math:
Monk 1 Flurries at -1/-1
Plus Cleric BAB of +2
Equals monk1/cleric 3 flurry of +1/+1 at 4th level. Not great, but doesn't suck. As an added bonus it's simple. Want it to suck less take another level of monk.

Monk 2/cleric 3 Flurries at +2/+2 without spells or feats calculated. Not shabby for a 5th level character. Plus your casting stat is also armor and your saves won't suck.

I recommend the feat Weapon Focus (unarmed) to get that flurry up another point. Also an amulet of mighty fists is going to be on your shopping list ASAP.

Depends on why you want the flurry, and what sort of character you have now.
In most cases a 1 lvl monk dip gives enough to make up for a lost caster level, especially if you've got excellent wisdom and can find the Guided enchantment.
