Ranger's bonus feats

Rules Questions

hi,

last session our 2H ranger asked about bonus feats, at lvl 6 one of the bonus feats he is available to take is "greater cleave" so he said "if ranger bonus feats need no prerequisite, i can take greater cleave without having cleave right?"
i really don´t know the answer to this (luckily we just reached lvl 5 so we got a few sesions before solving this ;D )

Yes, thats the beauty of the combat-styles.
I hope;)

Ranger Combat Style feats suck because you have a limited selection.

Ranger Combat Style feats rock because you don't have to meet the prerequisites in order to select them.

I would say yes as long he meets the level req. There is a similar disccusion going on here about the monks bonus feats which is worded the same way if you'd like to check for other opinions.

If you look in the CRB, it spells out which Style feats can selected at X level. It's really quite clear. There are additional Styles listed in the AGP and the wording there is equally clear.

As for Monks, I know not.

I understand that what I meant was trying to take great cleave at a level in which he didn't get that bonus feat as an option would be a no.
