Healing Potion Issue...

Advice

I have a problem. I am undead, sadly. I tried using a healing potion and it caused damage. I have two spells and did an experiment. I heal on the harm spell and get harmed by the heal spell. It's very weird. My DM said that I could try this: Instead of using a Healing Potion to heal me I could use something called an Inflict Potion. Who can I buy this from or who can make one? Any ideas?

The same people who make and sell healing potions.

Those folks might not be happy to see a walking corpse come into their store though...

I...kinda doubt that. Inflict potions don't really have much use for the vast majority of users.

Maybe if you're in Geb.

You may want to do some study of magic yourself. (Spellcaster/Brew Potion feat)

We had just such a problem with the dhampir character in my latest game. Some coordinated effort between characters was required to product the Inflict potions.

I'm not a walking corpse(yet). I am a Nazgul becoming a wraith. Stupid me for not watching Lord of the Rings! I put on one of the 9 Rings of Men!

Evil-against-your-will immortal wraith lycanthropic druid.

Right.

Somehow I'd forgotten about your campaign.

I'm not a lycanthrope anymore. Also the only reason I was evil was because I was turning into a Nazgul, I know that now.

You need a cleric with the brew potion feat to brew inflict potions for you. It would have to either be an evil cleric, or one who is sympathetic to you enough to make such a vile brew.

Shadow Lodge

The Inflict series does not have the Evil descriptor, so Good clerics have no impediments towards creating potions of Inflict. They may object to aiding your character, of course, if undead are taboo in their tenants.

So my cleric could help if he wants to. Is there another type of creature who can make it? What about a witch?

anyone with the brew potion feat. they don't even need access to the inflict spell, it just ups the spellcraft DC to create the item from 6 to 11 without the spell

Not true. For potions, you must have the required spells.

Quote:
These prerequisites must be met for the item to be created. Most of the time, they take the form of spells that must be known by the item's creator (although access through another magic item or spellcaster is allowed). The DC to create a magic item increases by +5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet. The only exception to this is the requisite item creation feat, which is mandatory. In addition, you cannot create potions, spell-trigger, or spell-completion magic items without meeting their spell prerequisites.

i think there's only one thing i can say to that

whoops

So he needs the spell inflict to make the potion. Is it possible I can use that spell for the potion because I have it, and he will do the rest?

Yes, you can do that.

It is possible for more than one character to cooperate in the creation of an item, with each participant providing one or more of the prerequisites. In some cases, cooperation may even be necessary.
