A huge hulking Ulfen man, as ready to laugh as to foam at the mouth. He clearly takes good care of his beard, but you can see he's been spending a great deal of time out in the wilderness. The leaves and not bathing are tells. The ill cured furs indicate he's a trapper, and not a very good one. The huge Earth-Breaker indicates he might be a better warrior.
It's hard to tell when the man sitting at the table in the back corner got there. You looked once and no one was there, you look again and a man was tipping back in his chair with his feet crossed on the table blowing the occasional smoke ring with a long thin pipe, hands resting easily on his stomach, giving all appearances of relaxed indifference. Only those who's senses were sharpened by a life time of dancing with death using blade or spell could pierce the illusion. It was hard to say what the tell was, maybe the eyes that seemed to see everything while they looked at nothing, or the way the hands laid on the stomach twitched towards the sheath at his side whenever the door opened. Whatever it was, you could tell this man was coiled and ready for trouble.

I'm sorry for the late reply, this weekend has been busy. I have a test on Wednesday, so it's probably going to be next week before I can start the game.
This is just a reminder, recruitment will be closing in 24 hours. I'll try and have the list up about two hours after that. thanks to everyone that has submitted so far, this is going to be tough.
Most sorcerers don't get beyond a few spells, but a few become powerful mages and are seen as heralds of power or harbingers of doom. It's pretty much similar to how witches are treated, luck of the draw.
In short, those that learn spells (wizards, alchemists, and magi) are much more rare than those that can cast innately (sorcerers and witches). In Redwall, arcane casters are not welcomed and are outright feared.
Would it be worth asking if you could elaborate on these couple points? Or would it be best to see who is selected first?
I like the angle of playing an outcast because of my powers. Trying to hide them, disguising myself as a Fighter etc...

-Are there many Sorcerers or other arcanists in the area and if so are they well known?
-To what lengths does Redwall go to keep arcane casters out? Is practicing arcane magic a crime and how are people prosecuted? To what lengths would somebody go to prosecute another?
-How far would one have to travel to be welcomed in the arcane arts?
-Maybe include anything else thats relevant?
-Most arcanists try and keep a low profile, so no. Those that are tend to keep to bigger cities.
-Not much, officially. No, and the guy would most likely stab them in a dark alley. If you read Order of the Stick and have gotten to the part about Greysky City then you have a more over the top version of Redwall. If not go read, it's pretty good, if too verbose at times.
-From Redwall? Well, I could tell, but part of that answer is plot relevant and the other part may be as well.
-Most people just don't associate with arcane spellcasters because they are afraid that they might wind up the wrong gender, a toad, or enslaved by some demon. Those that do tend to use illusionists and diviners to aid in their lawbreaking.

If chosen I plan to play her as a gambler and bounty hunter. Sadly at the moment her gear isn't up to par but you've got to start somewhere. :p
@DM-Salsa: Magus tend to keep a low profile then as well? It would make sense that they are lumped into the same category as spellcasters. it would also make for interesting roleplay. A Tiefling and a Spellcaster, yeah shanked in a dark alley sounds appropriate. :)
