Construct creation, as a player

Rules Questions

I wanted to run a character that loved to create construct, and is attempting to create a robot army. "One step at a time" but I don't know how pathfinder construct creation rules are different from 3.5.

Also, I only have a vague grasp of contruct creation, and from what I can tell from pathfinder, you ether create one of the sample constructs that are made, like flesh, clay, iron golems and.... that is about it.

Not quite clear on the Dos and Donts.

Major difference would be the lack of the EXP penalty for crafting that existed in 3.5, as long as you have the gold and the time to craft you lose nothing else.

If you wanted a more flexible construct creation option I would advise looking into the rules for Animated Objects.
Constructs are hideously expensive for most players, you might speak with you DM on the possibility of a variant of leadership for your construct maker with one construct as your minion and a slowly growing host of weaker constructs to begin the makings of your army. It would be much easier than trying to keep up with the rest of the party while making dozens of robots and will allow your DM to avoid the headache of your turn being comprised of yourself and five robots as that sort of thing slows combat rounds to a crawl.

You can find Pathfinder rules on constructs here. Making a new constructs normally follows a price scale tied to CR. For a construct built like an existing creature, I would use CR + 1 due to construct traits.

Beast bonded witch can give it's familiar feats. You can then take craft construct and give it to your familiar. Have familiar craft constructs while you adventure.

"Here, have this sword. My fox made it for you."

The problem I see is that constructs follow the orders of their creator. This would end up with your pet fox having a robot army. Admittedly, the fox is smarter than any of your companions but many would still view this as a bad thing.

Just hope its not an Imp familiar...

Fitting more with your theme of a "robot" army, check out a lot of the Clockwork creatures from Bestiary 3 ^_^
