Does Ice Tomb eventually melt away?

Silver Crusade

Depends on the surrounding temperature?

No idea. I have at least 10 questions on Ice Tomb that the RAW doesn't answer at all.

Yes if the surrounding area is warm enough. Do you want to make an ice castle or something?

I want know how long I can keep the bad guy "on ice".

Well first you would need to know the thickness of the ice, the temperature of the ice, the temperature of the surrounding area, the strength of the bad guy, and be under the assumption that the supernaturally formed ice has the same density of normal ice.

Lot of assumptions. I can guess that the length and width is equal to the facing of the target. Let's say the height is equal to target's height.

Assume room temperature as a base line.

Whether or not the ice is magically dense or just normal ice is unknown.

The victim doesn't suffocate while trapped in it, so I'm guessing 'magical'.

Which brings us back to the original question: Can Ice Tomb keep somebody on ice forever, even through a hot summer?

There is nothing in the description of this power that states it's anything other than normal ice so yes it will eventually melt.
Also we know that the ice is about 6 inches thick (ice has a hardness 0 and 3 hp/inch of thickness, 20hp=6.66 inches thick, round down to 6 inches)

Also, there are no rules in pathfinder on how quickly ice melts but given the world functions as earth normal on most things we can always assume that any temperature of 0' Fahrenheit will start melting ice. Once that melting has done more then 20 pts of damage the target is free.

Finally, Ice Tomb only prevents the target from needing to eat or breath they still need water (they are not in suspended animation, just paralyzed and unconscious) and will die in about 3 days or so from thirst at which point they are just frozen scenery.

This is a killing power, not some way of putting someone in cryo-sleep until you need them.
