[Open Design / Kobold Quarterly] Seize the Tin Crown!

Product Discussion

Who will claim the crown of kobolds? Crafted of tin, it'll shine like a star if you win!

We've got a Pathfinder contest for Midgard's Zobeck. Submit an entry detailing any one of the following: a monster, item, encounter, spells, feats, character theme, traps, hazards, powers—things well-suited to the setting. You've got 800 words to put your flourish on the Jewel of the Argent, Zobeck, the Clockwork City!

What's the deadline? Your entry needs to be sent to the Seize the Tin Crown Contest at miranda(at)koboldquarterly(dot)com no later than March 9, 2012, by noon PST. (That’s about three weeks from now!)

We've got your all the rules and details after the jump...

You've got just one day left to enter your magic-- put down those playtesting packages and give us a hit of your design mojo!

Well damn. I wasn't even aware of this until now :(

The Exchange Kobold Press

It's been on the KQ site, in the Kobold Courier, and on the Kobold Quarterly Facebook and Twitter.

I would plug it more here, but I don't want to get all spammy. Things like the blog, newsletter, and KQ Facebook are all so opt-in, that seems good to me.

But I gotta ask: Would people like more and/or more prominent notices of contests like this? Some of the prizes for the upcoming ones are kind of amazing, so... What do you think?

EDIT TO ADD: There's still 24 hours to enter!

I suppose my problem was that I don't generally check those. Signed up so I don't miss the next one.

Well, that sucks....I saw this back when it first posted, completely lost track of it, and now its over....ah well.

Liberty's Edge

I would like to get more prominent notices of contests, yes. This slipped by without my knowledge.

The Exchange Kobold Press

Ok, I'll see if we can be more emphatic about these on the Paizo boards, without getting crazy gonzo annoying about it.

Thanks for the feedback, and yep, there's another contest coming in April!

Last bump, voting ends (soonish)

I'm not sure why but that Clockwork Ooze really appeals to me :D

The Exchange Kobold Press

Yeah, I liked the ooze too, but the Clockwork Stalker was also amazing--and it won! Announcement here.

Apparently it's by a new designer (well, new to me, anyway). KQ gives new folks a break, again!

Wolfgang, the link should be this one: Congrats Eric Hindley!

The Exchange Kobold Press

Doh. Too much linkage. Thanks, Cheapy!

Dark Archive Contributor

I am new-ish, this will be the first thing I've had published outside of Wayfinder...

Thanks for the congrats and the opportunity and thanks to everyone who voted!

The Exchange Kobold Press

Hopefully not the last! Writer's Guidelines for KQ.

Very much so. I wasn't really expecting anything when I entered Superstar, but getting in hass made me far more interested in trying my hand at some freelancing/competing in more contests. I'm still just learning where to find opportunities/spending a lot more time on the Paizo boards.

Oh, and Congrats, Eric!

Good job Eric, Ill beat you next time though :)
