About celestial / fiendish templates

I keep seeing that I can summon animals with the celestial template, does that template do anything other than make the animal good-aligned? Are there actual stat changes?

AH, thanks! Will roll up several of the creatures so I can be ready to summon any one of them when my next session pops up.

4 Winds Fantasy has a product with all of these applied to the stat blocks (and augment summoning as an option).

It doesn't support the Resolute or Entropic templates from Bestiary 2 though.

Where does it say it becomes "Good" aligned?

Yes, you read that right. Celestial does not change the creature's alignment.

I have an aasimar character who had a celestial imp for a familiar.
It was a good conversational piece to say the least
