Quicken Force Missile

An evocation wizard in our group believes he can use the Quicken Spell feat with the force missile spell-like ability at level 1, is this possible?

No. Force missile is a spell-like ability, not a spell. There is a monster feat, quicken spell-like ability, but monster feats are not available to pc's unless the dm chooses to allow it.

No -- spell-like abilities are not spells. Please note that it doesn't use a spell slot and therefore can't use up a spell slot 4 levels higher than the one it currently uses.

There is a feat in the bestiary called quicken spell-like ability but it requires having a caster level of 10 for the spell-like ability in question and only functions 3 times a day (and only for that specific spell like ability).

Basically quicken spell is a useless feat for a spell caster until level 9.

Technically, Quicken spell can be used as early as Lvl 5, with Magical Lineage - you have to choose a cantrip or Orison for the trait, so it'll suck, but it's doable.
