Blur or Mirror Image?

Advice

I'm trying to decide on a 2nd level defensive spell for my blaster sorcerer, and I can't choose between Blur or Mirror Image. Which would be better for the unavoidable situations when things are trying to inflict stabbity doom on my character?

Depends how many rounds they are going to try to stab you for before you can get away. Probably Mirror Image though, for most scenarios.

Mirror Image, hands down. The only advantage to Blur is that you can cast it on someone else.

I agree. As you say you are a blaster, go for the selfish buffs. Mage Armor and Mirror Image last forever. Pop them at the beginning of the delve and have fun burninating everyone in battle.

Mirror Image. It benefits from your caster level.
Get a wand for Blur, which doesn't benefit as much from caster level.

Mirror Image at worst is 66% miss chance on the first hit, 50% miss chance on the second hit nothing on the next.

Blur is 20% for all hits.

Both last minutes per level Marus needs to go reread Mirror Image.

Now if you are say level 6 and roll a 2 on the d4 thats 4 images

80%, 75%, 66% 50%

Do you think you will get hit more than 4 times?

However consider:

20% miss chance means that in 6 attacks you will get hit 4.8 times anyway.

Pretty much a no brainer to me.

Liberty's Edge

How about Blink for the Win? Lower duration, slight problem when casting, but 50% miss chance and 1/2 from all AOEs.

Whoops. You're looking at 2nd level defensive spells. Ignore my comment above as it does you little good if you don't have access to it.
