Can't wait to see what they got in store for us this week. Hope it's more than just a recap of recent cons'n'stuff.
If it's a con-recap I'm going to going to go berserker rage on them.

Is it a Kobold? I'd guess so at some stage. I was browsing a guide to the River Kingdoms but can't remember it listing which wildlife exist there. I know to begin with there will be: Goblins, Wolves, Ogres and Bandits.
Digging on kobolds more if it is a kobold:
are a small, craven, lizard-like race that dwells in places hidden from the sun, particularly subterranean caverns or densely wooded areas. Most commonly encountered in and around the nation of Andoran
... much of Andoran's eastern border lies within the Verduran Forest, and follows the flow of the Sellen River.
Sounds at least in the locality.

If it's a con-recap...
I've been hard-pressed to think of a single thing I want to know from any convention. I want to hear thoughts from the devs on the game they're developing for themselves and for us, not an accounting of the time they've had to take (probably rightfully so) away from talking to us and working on design.

While I definitely love the meaty blog posts on game mechanics, I also appreciate the ones focusing on the human side of the game development. The devs are going to endure a lot of negativity from folks who feel a sense of entitlement not only to make demands with respect to the game, but also to hold the devs to a standard of behavior higher than they themselves are willing to live up to. We need to remember the human beings on the other side and encourage them to share their passion with us. The conventions were a major part of their lives over the last several weeks; if they have stories to tell us about those experiences, I'd be happy to hear them.

To me the beasts in the pictures look more like these: lizardfolk than these: kobold.

Very cool art either way. If guessing: lizardfolk. Seems the small blurb indicates we'll eventually possibly have both (kobolds dark places and forest and lizardfolk marshy swamps - appears to be the pic)?

Yeah, there's room for variety in the blogs eg at cons finding new devs and introducing them and explaining all that sort of side to growing GW as well as making PFO.
Also I'm sure as more stuff is created in game, Goblin Squad will see more peeks at stuff that solidifies sooner eg art and graphics by comparison to the devs working atm on M3?
Perhaps the blog will be the buying-selling system this week for another alternative?

Going forward, we plan to stick to an every-other-week format for our dev blog, although we'll throw in extra posts when we get something interesting we want to share.
Easy to miss but there it is.

Yes, today, but not yet.
Also look out for Valve's second announcement, probably "SteamBox" in about 2Hrs40mins.
The countdown page looks like perhaps softbrackets = software (albeit stylized) and hardbrackets = hardware. It has a space so the hardware is open. The 3rd is software + software so it seems an engine on top of the OS possibly:
() = SteamOS
[() ] = ? = SteamBox (running SteamOS) AMD announcement today too
() + () = ? = Source Engine (running on SteamOS) possibly.
Anyone else waiting that's a bit of fun decoding!

Did I miss the announcement that there was no Sept. 18 update? I have been busy and out of touch. I do not have the focus that Nihimon or Bludd or Being have.

They are going to a bi-weekly Blog (I'm told), which means I have to come up with a "Threadnaught" to stir crap up, every other week.
I really hope today's Dev Blog has a lot of meat to it.

Somewhat early *click*.
I've basically missed the whole Steam revolution. I mostly play MMOs, and they don't tend to use Steam. I've used Steam twice, for Spore and Skyrim. I'll check out their OS and box. Thanks from me, too.
To Bluddwolf's point, I think that between now and Alpha, or EE, or the arena fight sim (if that's still going to happen), my participation in the forum is going to slow down. Re-hashing the same old arguments for months just doesn't appeal to me. Luckily, dev blogs are only slowing down, not stopping, so there will still be some new stuff to discuss.
I think we've just reached the guts of the project, when GW needs time to transform all of the big, exciting ideas into a working program. That's a fine and necessary stage, even if it doesn't generate as much forum activity as the big idea stage at the beginning or the game testing stage near the end.

One of my favorite groups, Nihimon.
Pandora really rocks my world. The Birthday Massacre is one of those bands where I just like every single song I hear from them. Glad to know I'm not alone :)
And I'm really surprised it's almost 5:00 on the West Coast and there's still no blog...

I expect they'd've let us know if they weren't going to give us a blog this week. There have been others that were quite late - Put It in Writing wasn't released until almost 6:30 Pacific.

It was released around 833-835pm-ish ET.
Nihimon I just have to ask:
"I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sure anxious to see today's blog post :)"
Did it meet your expectations?
Was it 'meaty' enough?
Was it worth a two week wait?
Just wondering, as I am off to bed now I have to wait till tomorrow to see how the forum members reaction to this dev posting...

It met and exceeded my expectations and my desires. I have been hoping for quite a while now that a new official statement would clear up any misconceptions about the consequences of PvP and I think this blog did that perfectly. I am simply over the moon to now have a clearly defined term - "Sanctioned PvP" - that draws an unmistakable line between "good" PvP and the kind of PvP that will lower your Alignment and Reputation.
It was so meaty I feel like I could go to my local Blood Bank and give a triple donation of Platelets :)
Not only was it worth a two week wait, it was also worth the 4 and 1/2 hour wait since I started expecting it this afternoon, and I expect it will keep me well-satisfied for another two weeks.

One last thought, George Velez. A little before the last blog, I wrote:
I feel a little like the folks at Helms Deep, trying to hold out until Gandalf and the Riders of Rohan arrive to join the battle...
Suffice it to say that today, I don't just feel like the cavalry has arrived, I feel like the Siege has been utterly broken and we're celebrating our victory with mead and singing and dancing.

I think that more than riding in and crushing one side, in this case the cavalry arrived with cookies for everyone. PvP outside the rep and alignment systems is sure to make some people happy.

Yes the sort of purdy pictures:
Pathfinder characters have significantly higher attention to detail than characters of many other fantasy worlds, and we want to capture and continue that with Pathfinder Online. We believe in making characters you will be excited to play and creatures that will be convincing, imposing, and exciting to fight and encounter, so we are focusing on making a smaller number of better quality characters, and building up the selection over time.
I really appreciate this. It would be good if the diversity of reactions of all this large cast is the equal of their visual representations, too. :)

They did move to a biweekly cycle, and there was no blog last week, so we are due for one tomorrow.
Problem is that instead of resolving their differences, the Speaker and President have agreed it will be simpler to turn off the atomic clock at the naval observatory, thus avoiding default. Time, as we know it, has been suspended.
